Anyone done this themselves?

Just looking for some tips on getting the moulding right etc

Doesn't seem like a hard job, and I'm rather familiar with fibreglass, but knowing me I'll stuff something vitally important

and just like that, it became a group buy haha...

So is one st being made and then MOULDS now? seeing as so many peoplewant tem, is it worth getting them made by a body kit shop and paying that lil extra?

How familiar are you with FG, oddy? what do you think? Otherwise the pressures on you to make like 10 set haha

Ahah sudden group buy!

When I say I'm familiar with FG, it means I've used it before (made a parcel shelf, rolled guards on an ae86, basic frontage on sub box)

I was going to wait til I could buy some paint but pressure's on now, if only I could get days off from work

I might make a few sets at the outset (I dont have access to an S2 yet) and bog/prime them smooth and send em out for you to paint yourselves (if they come out good).

Having said all of this they might turn out dodgy as, but I'll likely post a step-by-step as I go so I can narrow down how it went.

Time frame at this stage will be a couple of weeks - I work 80 hours a week so I gotta wait for a day off

Slow your roll - I'll keep you updated!

give me some time and i might have a go, my old man used to do fibreglass boats for a living so he knows his way around fibreglass and making moulds. Ive made a cold air duct for the stock bumper before and than turned out great, im sure the eyelids wouldnt be that difficult, ill post more when i have a better look at the car and some spare time.

Check Howies topics, he made a tutorial with his R34 eyelids

Here's the linky for those interested.

I was about to throw up another fibreglass repair diy article (repairing a front splitter using glass) soon.

meanwhile if anyone else wants to have a crack at making some eyelids too (someone with an S2?)

feel free.

It can't be THAT hard!

How much do eyelids retail for anyway?

From slidewize the one I linked before shipped to our doorsteps is 175 dollars via EMS, 160 via container. Then you need to put money aside to get them painted. It all adds up :D

Better off making them at that price! :D

They are perfect!!! I want them - but the only prob is - that page is all Japanese and I have no clue on how to purchase or see how much shipping will be....

have you got a English translated link by any chance...??

Edited by FULOCK
you right click - and it should say 'translate this page to english' OR go to google, language tools, select japanese to english and paste the link.

OR alternatively i can source them for you and a price delivered

:)

that worked :D now, 3000yen is approx $30 yeah??

whats this mean exactly: (Shipping nationwide uniform 630 yen (excluding Outlying Islands)

代引手数料 ¥525 Pulling handle 525 yen's fee)

is that the shipping costs.....??? pulling handle...??

how much would it all cost delivered to Melbourne??

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
