Hi all,

I was wondering how much torque NM your r33's have please list mods,

Im just interest in how much a r33 with 160rwkw will have and how much one with 200 rwkw will have, usualy mods used to get to these power levels is assumed.

Ive heard 600nm from a 200rwkw engine is about right?

Any tips suggestions would be great, and if youve been in a v8 compare the torque curve to that of a r33, the incar experience not tech,

Thanks

what special dynos are you guys going to? Anything above 450nm on a factory setup is a load of shit

I've been to 3 different dynos, all come out the same. 240rwkw and 480nm torque, and this was with a GT3076 7 blade compressor and cropped turbine.

Two of these dynos now say 314rwkw and 720nm.

213rwkw and 670nm torque

Might want to tell the operator to run his dyno properly. Thats simply a crap reading. You need to be pushing more than 260rwkw to manage that much torque.

f**k I love it how people have no idea

R33 GTR stock as a rock besides Trust Power Evo. II exhaust including de-cat pipe also some Jap "power chip" of unknown origin:

- Max torque: 589.5Nm @ 94kmph (in 3rd gear)

(As a reference Max power: 189kW @ 134kmph)

Cheers,

Big Mike

all the dynos reading your torque provide the correct graph but the graph may not have the correct readings. So the map of your torque and where it rises, drops etc will be correct, but the reading in NM wont.

Im pretty sure all gearbox ratios, diff ratios etc need to be entered before an accurate torque reading can be had?

I used to own a 5LTR commodore and compared to my R34 GTT it had loads more torque, everywhere. More importantly it had usable torque right from the word go, where as turbo engines generally lack this.

Lol definitely over doing it abit. More torque then an R35 GTR? You've got a pretty torquey standard RB26!

At 255kw@wheels mine is around 550-600Nm, not sure on actual figure as i dont have the print out of the torque curve only power curve.

Any tips suggestions would be great, and if youve been in a v8 compare the torque curve to that of a r33

Old mans Blow CV8 Monaro was dynoed in Brisbane at Power Torque with 370kw@wheels and 1080Nm of torque, then with a bit of a tidy up of the tune up here in Townsville and changing the air intake slightly its making roughly the same power with 1100Nm of torque. No bullshit on both torque figures, i have both dyno graphs. It feals unreal and plants you in the seat like no other car i have ever been in.

its an older type of dyno and reads proper power not bullshit power like all your typical shootout modes etc and on a new type it would read around 250rwkw so i dont think my nm is wrong , but hey worth having a go :D

and u claim 314rwkw and only 114mph and only 700nm? for starters u dont even have the mph to back up ur aclaimed 314rwkw so id watch what u say about dynos and bullshit figures. :D

Go to the place that tuned it and poke smart ass remarks to them. Im going by numbers on the dyno sheet.

Thanks champ.

Well hopefully the smart ass remark has made you think about it. Do you honestly believe your Rb26 makes more torque then a VR38DETT?

I know you might have a read out, but I would doubt it heavily if I were you

Not harm intended :D

Have any of you quoting figures had your cars specific ratios entered before the run?

Or are you claiming the figures that come up when you throw it on a dyno?

Can anyone confirm my belief that the ratios need to be entered to accurately measure torque is correct?

Other ways to go about getting your point across the way you did just made you look stupid. But anyway, none taken and none intended on my behalf.

Why is what a dyno reads out so "incorrect"? (genuine question!)

I was of the belieft that an accurate torque reading needs to be calculated with the cars gearbox and or diff ratios... by not entering them you wont get an accurate reading?

Im sure someone will confirm this

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
