since your going to get a new alarm system are you able to tell us what you had so we either know not to get it or see if there any modules you didn't have that may of made it better

...As far as security goes, my alarm system just hasn't cut the mustard by the looks of it as it was completely dead when I got to the car, so they managed to kill the siren pretty easy. I think I'm going to seriously up the stakes as far as the security goes on it now...

dude thats f**ked up. ive always said you had one of the cleanest 33's ive seen, then to have it basically raped by some scum its messed up!!!

bloody hell man that sucks, at least it wasnt actually stolen and thrashed or even burnt out.

damn cops dont wanna do anything these days except defect us!!!

lauren old car was broken into twice, her ute once and my 32 once well they tried to get into mine and caused a shit load of damage. all this next door to you shane :s

the police were called each time and by the forth break in, i lost my shit when the lady on the phone said and ill quote this, "no, sorry. we dont send out people for little things like that no mater how many times it happens." my car cost me just under 5k to fix, does that sound like a 'little thing' bitch?! unfourtunetly i lost it big time and i regret it but the amount of finger prints left on my car from them these prinks was amazing. its like they know they can leave as much evidence behind and still wont get cought. it looks like they ate the greayest chicken then touched my car before stabbing it with screwdrivers.

im all for protecting your own property and belongings, considering noone else will.

heres some picks of my car after they tried to break into my car, hopefully your car doesnt look this bad jarred.

kye

i finally figured that when i first brought my cra i accidentaly turned my alarm right down and yesterday it went off as i set it off and figured that i might be able to turn it up buy the key, man done that and nearly deafend my mate. good thing i turned it up. ducks to her bout that kye, seems these scummy bastards get away with it and leave the hard working man with his ass still hanging out the back waiting on the insurance and the cops to do stuff. i am not in adelaide but have heard of mates cars broken into whilst down there for a couple of days.

sorry to hear jared, always gets my blood boiling hearing about this, 2 of my past cars have been broken into while i was at work in a very public place, people just dont care anymore.

As far as getting a r31 goes, they have just gone into the top 10 most stolen so might be worth going for something even less noticeable, i went the way of a falcon.

sorry to hear,

but that is absolute crap they didnt want to do anything, but as shane said go talk to your local MP. If some scum broke into my car I would get justice no matter.

I wish I was big enough to smack down a thief :(

+1. im a stick. but i do play cricket, so my bat may one day come in handy :P

Sorry to hear that dude......your weekend must have been a really bad one....

this shit is happening so frequently we have to do something about it as a SAU community.....these scum bags really need a lesson to be taught to...

I'm for real, and I know quite a few cops either friends/family.

So do I.... and I'd hardly consider their job to be easy.... nor would I consider the salary to be much of an incentive... most cops are OK, its just that theyre only human and sometimes the stress gets to em and they lash out/vent steam (like my job nuts me too sometimes)... problem is they are public servants, and have to deal with a lot of crap. Me however, I don't have that level of oversight.

I'd agree with the point you made, that if someones trying to steal/damage property or harm you/your loved ones, then by all means, show them the seven levels of hell... police in most cases would agree with you defending yourself/property.

For my $0.02c, I know that even if the police were paying $80k a year I still wouldn't do it...its a very tough job, replete with a stupid amount of paperwork and procedure... the average policeman gets $40k salaries which is why so many of them get into a second business to help them make ends meet.

come work in the mines up here its good money. the police u here i must say are good. especially some of the new copppers that just rolled in. they can take a joke and stuff but will crack down on theifts vandalism, break ins and drink driving harshly which is good. as far as defecting goes i was told by 4 coppers they dont care bout my cars, as long as they dont see any wheelies around town(they didn't mention out at the town turn offs). but yeah cops can crack down when poeple be smart asses to them but are only human. i have also got a custom hilux 2 inch lift custom tray, 35 inch tyres, and 2 truck pipes out the back. wonder what they are going to say when she hits the road again.

cheers... michael

I'm not keen to say what I had in the thing yet, but it wasn't a cheap system & fitted by a supposedly 'reputable' installer. They made quick work of it & I have a feeling they've stuffed it, whether or not they would have known what to do to get it going is another story, but I won't elaborate too much there. Going to be contacting the guys that did install it though & see what they have to say.

Just remember when you "teach people a lesson" you become no better than them a common criminal,

remember its only a car it can be fixed or replaced

No offence Steve, but if you don't make a statement & say that it's not ok to be doing this stuff, they'll just keep doing it, & that's exactly the signal that the government is sending out by allowing this stuff to keep happening. If you keep bending over, you'll keep getting reemed.

Unless I start stealing things from people that spend endless hours of blood sweat & tears on their pride & joy I will never be as low as the assholes that try to steal our cars. It's not just a car, it's MY CAR & I've spent a lot of time & hard earned dosh getting it to where it is now.

I will now have to SPEND all my overtime money I've earnt so far this year & was saving for a good frontmount on fixing/replacing things on the car as it will not be worth claiming on insurance. Hardly seems like justice to me.

Don't think I'll be able to enjoy driving my car to work every day anymore, it's just not worth the risk. It's not just posessions they take away. It's part of our lives too.

Was wondering about that, guess the crims want one of them for the same reasons I would. Do have some alternatives so I guess I'll have to look around. Cheers

Mate why do you think most of Americas and Australia's jails are so full people don't care about examples a lot of US states have 3 strikes your out and a lot still carry the death penalty this doesn't deter some people they will take the risk no matter what the consequences

^^^^ easy solution:

1) Make jails MUCH, MUCH more uncomfortable - they are relative havens of luxury now, compared with how some people live. Once you have committed and been convicted of a crime, you lose your right to any luxury. No bed mattresses or pillows, 6' x 6' single occupant cell, 1 hour exercise a day, basic meals in cell, no socialising with other prisoners except in the exercise yard, NO internet, NO TV or other entertainment. Take away ALL their basic rights except food and a little exercise. Once someone has been to jail he will NEVER want to go back, and will think hard about this before re-committing once let out.

2) triple the punishment for all crimes and widely publicise this. Crime = punishment - no more suspended sentences - PUNISH THEM

3) equal penalties for all races - the gang of 69 being a prime example. They keep being let off, only to commit more and more crimes, being more and more brazen. Race is no excuse for crimes - you always have a choice.

The only people to suffer if we do these things are criminals. Sooner or later they will wake up and actually be deterred by actually being punished, rather than the pathetically lax system we have at the moment.

I like the idea where your hand is severed if you're caught stealing! :D

Make the punishment a "punishment". These so called "prisons" have better accomodation and facilities than most hotels/motels! :D

could'nt agree more

Andrew for minister of correctional services

Sue Varden did a rubbish job and left a big mess for the next person who isnt doing much better

the big riots in 1992 B division was because Von Einem was head cook there should be no such thing as protection for paedophiles and the likes rapists other low lifes they should be dealth with by mainstream "in there 1 hour in the yard"

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
