And i suppose John "Pelican" at unique fed you that dribble...ive heard him say it to customers time and time again about so called "Croydon Watts"...heres some proof

My car

CRD 439kw...the next day at Autosalon Sydney 437kw

CRD 467kw (at night with cold air) the next day at Autosalon Newcastle 455kw (the heat of the day in an auditorium with not much fresh air)

CRD 486kw...the next day at Autosalon final battle Sydney 487kw then the next day took a little bit of fuel out of it to push it over 500kw with 502.4kw.

Both dyno's are of a different make from Croydon (Dynodynamics) and Autosalon (Mainline dynolog), and the dyno in Newcastle is a different Mainline Dynolog to the one used in Sydney.

They are so accurate because they are used by skilled operators with more years of experience than most people on here have been alive.

So please don't post hearsay dribble you get fed from other workshops.

And just for the record I no longer have any affiliation with Croydon Racing.

My thoughts exactly..

guys ..sort of related question and main reason I want to dyno the car.

I took the car to get all the drive, psteering and timing belt replaced recently. Since, I feel like I've got less power ... as if the car doesn't boost. I mean I can hear the turbo spool up and everything but I don't feel that sudden rush of extra power.

My mate reckons I'm full of shit and just got used to the power ... he's probably right. What do yous think? Could they have screwed something up when changing the timing belt??

I know I know ...dyno run will tell me for sure if there's anything weird (ie. if the figures are way too low) but i've been busy and havent had time this week to take it for a dyno run. Hopefully someone like CRD can squeeze me in tommorow as I'm getting more paranoid every day..

Any simple way to test if all the cylinders and turbo are working ok at the correct parameters, other than simply looking at dyno results? cheers

Sydneykid? was there beef between you guys? lol

no beef...Gary and i sometimes don't see eye to eye (im 6'2" and he's a midget :) )

but... if everyone was all love all the time the world would be a little boring.

hmm shit that doesn't sound good. Would you recommend against dynoing the car if it's "one tooth out" .. could the dyno do more damage? Any way of checking if it's one tooth out without actually taking the whole engine apart again??

Take the tyiming cover off, rotate the crank to TDC and look at the camshaft pulleys. Take 10 minutes at best.

Cheers

    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
