Now Accepting Orders! Ati Super Dampers (harmonic Balancers) Gtr R32 R33 R34's,

Recommended Posts

Yeah, www.horsepowerparts.com quoted me US$430 for the balancer + US$69 postage via USPS. Delivered in 6 to 10 days. Thats about $518 Australian delivered.

Id be interested in a 918598 (R33 up to 500hp) if you can beat the above price.

Actually, maybe the bigger one would be better; how much is 360rwkw at the engine???

Shaun.

Everything will be taken into consideration, (local suppliers, international taxes, customs, etc etc..) as soon as everything is confirmed I'll post it up. The thread is to generate numbers and bargaining power.

Cheers

Johno

Very interested in either the 917752 or the 917753.

I'm running a R33 26 motor in a R32 and using the R32's power steering pump, would anyone know if the crank pully in the 917752 and the 917753 would be the same? thinking the only difference would be the P/S, A/C, and Alt pullies? :)

The only difference between the different models is the offset of the accessory pulleys on the balancer. The R33 p/s pulley is apparently further out.

Ive got the same setup as you, and im just going to replace it with the R33 balancer, as it works ok now.

Shaun.

Any news on these harmonic balancers?

Need prices including delivery. Im waiting to order one from the States.

just a little advice... the smaller ati balancer is all you need for street gtrs.. i ran one for 2 years making 850hp at the wheels and 9500rpm...with no probs..

the bigger 1000hp balancer is only for serious engines 800 to 1200hp...racing only...

cheers. hope this helps...

$485 is a good price delivered. And very tempting. If i just bolted one of these to my engine would it throw out the balance of the motor? Seeing as i got the engine balanced with the standard crank.

^^^^ Exactly!

I cant understand why so many people are opting for the larger (significantly heavier) balancer. Extra rotational mass is not a good thing and is overkill for many applications. Your choices, but its just a thought.

Shaun.

Also, as the ati balancer is already balanced, it wont affect the balance of a freshly balanced rotational assembly. How many times can i say balance in one sentence!

Mark, do you think the 500hp model will handle track work ok?

My engine is pushing around about 800hp at the flywheel, and I mainly use the car for sprints, so now I'm wondering whether or not the 600-1000hp is over kill since you have been using the 500hp model with ~1100hp at the engine just fine.... :)

what maodel would you want for a 26/30det application. only the up to 500 hp is what i would be after. would it jsut depend on the car the head came out of?? or would it be for r32 as it has the smalller crank drive??

any help

My engine was making almost 900hp and soon to be making around 1100hp...small balancer is staying put. The larger balancer needs a lot more maintenance too, where as the smaller balancer is much more of a set and forget option for streeters. Who wants to be pulling of thier balancer every few 1000klm's for maintenance....not me :)

No probs mate, I think I will be doing the same too. Paul's building mine so I'll go with his recommendation.

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
