heya guys ,

where do u recommend for servicing of the skyline ( not those dodgy ones or cheaters )....i live in glebe

thanks

ADVAN performance. They are on Hampstead road in Auburn. In my experience, well worth the drive over from the city.

What servicing are you after??

If its only oil,oil filter, spark plugs, air filter - save yourself some money and if your confident enough do it yourself.

yup those 5k km servicing....but i am not confident enough to do myself

So yeah, I am looking for a good Skyline mechanic in sydney myself.

So far

Bel Garage - friendly, do not overcharge, but sloppy (see wastegate actuator cover note above)

CRD - friendly, decent prices but rushed the last job they did ... I got a greddy ebc installed, took a long time but then the dyno tune was rushed and I didn't even get a printout of any sort because some other customer was having a whinge about waiting long

****

Just my opinion anyway. For normal servicing, oil, oil filter etc I reckon you should do it yourself as it's easy. But if you cant be bothered give this guy a call, my dad uses him for oil changes etc and says he's an honest and good mechanic, comes to you too. (Frank Migldalski 0422787878)

Yeah I've heard of unigroup ... might have to pay them a visit tommorow actually.

Just had the road tune done by Toshi and we spent all day ... only to come back home to 1) find his chip programmer broken and 2) his timing gun reading my ignition timing at 30 degrees instead of 15.

f**k me dead. Does this shit ever end??? So either his timing gun is faulty or we've just wasted the whole day because if my ignition timing is higher than 16-17 degrees, all the road tuning we did today was for nothing so i'll probably end up paying twice to get it done.

So yeah, I need to take the car to unigroup ASAP as Toshi says they have a very good timing gun that will tell us the correct reading. Fark. Me. Dead. Just once I'd like something to go right with this car. On one hand I love it and on the other, I hate it because I've already spent so much money on it (and need to spend lots more to get it the way I want it) and because I can't seem to get a friggin break when it comes to tuning it.

Sorry for hijacking your thread mate! Just venting ..

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
