ROFL I'm gonna send him that! He only wears his kilt on Sunday so I guess I don't wanna be passenger when that wind's blowing around in that little thing. He's got a more portable bagpipe, it's ok.

Youre not talkin bout teh one under his kilt i hope.

Now, here i was talking about talking ur mate out of an Mx-5 and here you are wanting to play teh bagpipes! Say it aint so Dan!

:D My dirty secret! I just want to play!!!!!!! Nooooo. What will my mother say!

Starlet GT.

Can pick them up for an absolute steal (anywhere from 5k - 10k depending on condition), 1.3L could basically run on petrol fumes, snappy handling, nimble and light (850kg or thereabouts), enough room for 5 if needed (bit squishy in the back obviously), and the practicality of a hatch (can fit shiteloads in the back with the rear seats down).

And the parts are quite cheap to top it off.

Look for one in good condition with reasonable Kms and exhaust/suspension/wheels/tyres. Basically a fairly close to stock one with just a few improvements to make it a bit of a beast in the twisties.

Take a look on http://www.austarletclub.com/forums/.

Theyre very friendly over there :D

LOL It was intended for automotive discussion and mainly is. It's served it's purpose though and given me some info for my mate who appreciates it. I also got a laugh so that's a bonus!

Hi guys, I'm just after some suggestions for a mate who's after something cheaper than his big heavy falcon as he wants to tie up some debts and wants a cheaper run around. He does enjoy driving and wants something that will be fun through some hills ect so if anyones so some recommendations it would be much appreciated.

So far he's been looking into Pulsar SSS's and Starlet GT's. He's got around 10k to play with give or take and it will be a daily driver so nothing too old as he does want it to be reliable.

Cheers.

Honda CRX - 2nd Generation.

Extremely zippy, use bugger all fuel, cheap insurance, and fantastic handlers! I won't even mention how easy they are to park and get around in. They even have HUGE carrying capacity.

Forget the age of the vehicle - it's the CONDITION that important. Most R32's are a couple of decades old now, yet that doesn't automatically mean they're all hunks of junk. Quite the opposite can be true if the car has been looked after.

I bought a second generation CRX as an 'in-betweener' to getting my current R32 GTR and I still LOVE jumping back into it regularly and taking it for a spin!!!

Looks like everyone backs the mx5.. But it is a very suss car, if you tint the windows enough u'll be right.. at least your not driving a vw beatle..

Try a mini never driven one, but chicks seem to dig it.. you mate have issues getting chicks?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
