looks pretty good. car is WAY too big and flag needs to bein a more front on position. otherwise its ok.....

We are a car club, thats why the car on the banner is large, because we are advertising that we are a car club... ;)

I like it as it is now with the bigger writing Mick.... just need to find a good pic, hopefully Tezza can help :(

if not, I'll start a thread in the General section, or photography section - someone on this forum will have a good hi-res pic surely.

we are not selling jap-spec r34 GTR's nor do any active members in the ACT own an r34 GTR therefore we should not be advertising the fact..... im not saying that i could do a better job, but your trying to make a piece of art instead of trying to make a simple banner..... also having a big black car will cost more in ink and the contrast on an image that size and dark in colour will be nil. you wont see any of the detail....

So I got bored, and I'm sick, so I needed something to do.....

These are just done from some pics I've snapped over the years. I kinda thought that the banner should have actual cars from SAU ACT in it.

I have big arse high res ones if needed, the text & colours can be changed if needed of course.

yeah I like that one best too

I like stylised rather than a photo

I still like Micks though and I think it will look good with that black R34GTR....don't think it really matters where the car is from as it is just a representation of a Skyline, doesn't have to be identifiable as someone's actual car IMO..

Kids don't forget Texikhana is on in 2 weeks which means I will be in the national capital *hint*

If anyone can come up with a Bayside Blue or Black R34 GTR i'll do a shoot in Can-bra and give the images to SAU|ACT. :P They'd be full-res 8 megapixel images. :ninja:

Vote 1 Mark as banner designer, fair few good designs in there.

They're just chopped photos with some blending and text... The banner should represent the ACT, it should contain images of an ACT landmark (Parliament house, Telstra Tower etc) and of course a nice clean Skyline or two.

If the background is to busy or there are too many colours it wont stand out as much from a distance and it wont attract peoples attention as it will just blend into its surroundings.

P.S. Mark - I dont think that the design with me making a stupid face represents the club very well... :(

That sounds like an excellent idea Ian, thanks.

Perhaps we should organise a short photo cruise before Texi?

I was thinking we could do something on the Saturday afternoon - 4pm onwards as that is the better time in regards to light levels,

We can do outside Kevin Rudd's workplace or this other place that i've found on google maps here

Your call guys.:(

I know that, ie the top is one layer, as is the bottom or they are both the same layer, and overlayed on each photo, even so I'm just saying they are good subject matter and good pics, so are yours.

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
