Redline is better cos its ester based group 5 oil. Mobile 1 is synthetic too but belongs to group IV as it does not have ester.

Mind you I might try Mobile 1 myself at the next service... i just cant convince to spend over 200 bucks for an oil change when my car does not see the track and is stock.

whooah! why you spending $200?? redline from performancelub should be around the $100 mark delivered for 5 quarts.

Hey thanks for that.

Redline Synthetic Oil 5w-40 from performanceclub.com is about 17 bucks per 950 ML. So thats 6 * 17 which is around 114 dollars. How much is the delivery charge from them as it does not say?

Cheers!

Why don't you just ask Harold from performancelub.com about the shipping charge?

^^yep yep he links to the aussie post calculator, but will give you a proper quote quick smart if you email him the order.

how come you're getting 6 quarts tho??? i doubt a skyline would need 6 to be honest. even with a filter change

Dont we need 5 litres of oil for the engine? So if you only buy 5 * 0.950 ML thats like 4.75 litres. Is that enough or do we need 5 litres exactly?

Also if the car is stock, sees no track and seldomly gets floored on the streets, can I just service it every 10,000 KMs?

hmmm today i went into Auto one and i also read the oil review that was attatched to this topic...mmm the guy was telling me that Penrite Synthetic "SIN" 5 5w60 is way better then the Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5w30? and also the oil review also had better results from the Penrite...im talking about the one that was using the bearings and showing the marks etc etc....so the question is keep using MOBIL 1 or try Penrite? any help would be sweet :D

dont care which gay test results some shows you, M1 is better oil. Get it and you will be happy.

which one tho? the M1 5w30 or the 0w40? :D

Cheers

depends on how you feel. Generally people have been going with the 0W40. In asutarlia we are scared of "thin" oils. If its for street use, thin is great to reduce startup wear. However if ur gonna see some track 40-50 weight be better. Generally for a mixture of booting it around racing excels and honda accords, 0W40 would be fine (M1 of course...)

    • hello wanted some insight on what my problem could be so i swapped a RB26DETT into my r33 gtst used a R33 GTR engine harness and im using a haltech platinum pro. The car cranks but no start the ecu isn’t getting any power now im trying to find out why i cant seem to find any schematics  or diagram for the engine harness for the r33 gtr anything helps thank you.
    • hahahaa @GTSBoy that is my last resort. Like use a cardboard and cut it using the indicator as a reference. But I was winging my luck to see anyone had a spare bumper because drawing the outline off the hole is always easier and less chance of mucking it up
    • Admittedly in that screenshot its doing about 13psi but later on in the log theres definitely spikes to 16. What is missing though is the massive peak, then a big drop and then a recovery. While it does go a little higher than I would like on base pressure, I think it's reasonably safe to assume that boost control via the mac valve should be a lot easier to control from here on out. I wasn't game to hook up the mac valve today as it's very wet and it's on the verge of fighting traction as it is.
    • I think this is still wrong. There is something crappy with wastegate priority (or the f**king absence of it) if you can't get below nearly double the base spring pressure. But if you're happy with what you've got, upload skid vids now.
    • So a further update for this one. Turbosmart were very gracious and took one look at the wastegate and said this is our original version, we will just replace the entire thing and send it back to you. So I fitted the new wastegate with its new revisions and took it around the block on spring pressure (9 psi spring). Appears the minimum it will do is about 16psi. Keep in mind this is only 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. I think the issue is fixed compared to what it was doing before however I'm happy to provide more logs if anyone thinks theres more to the story to uncover
