Missinglink
I have a pair of focal poly-k splits in my front doors (S2 gts-t) and they fitted OK, not sure if they are similar size or not. You just need to construct a new set of internal pods to replace the factory ones if they are a larger diameter. Fhrx
You shouldn't have any problems fitting them in. Just remember though if you're going to splash on high-end speakers like Utopia's, at least do them the justice of sound deadening your doors and installaing diffuser panels to minimise wave reflection and cancelation. hippy
well i already got polyglass in my doors ... and yes i will be sound deadening it as part of the installation ... i want 6.5's ... the polyglass were a bitch to fit but it fit ... i don't know the depth of the utopias ... i have a feeling that it will be bigger and if it is then i dont' think they will fit ... as the glass were quite a sqeeze ... Fhrx
Kind of tough that hey. Try getting the depth measurements from the Focal website? Now I think about it, I think the Utopia's are a couple of MM deeper too. BOoStEr
My Focal bochure says both mount in a 142mm hole and the mounting depth of the 165W (utopia) is 78mm compared to 69mm for the 165V (Polyglass). It doesn't state the diameter of either magnet but from the pictures I'd say they are about the same with the Utopia maybe 5mm bigger. hippy
yeah well i'm i guess i'm not worried about the diameter ... but since the depth is larger i think it probably won't fit thats 1cm .. probably too much ... Fhrx
Depending on just how much work you want to undertake you could knock up some spacer plates and see if you can fit the additional 10mm under the facotry trim? Might not work but I cannot hurt to have a go. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/22465-focal-utopia-splits/#findComment-483381 Share on other sites

YO880
i found i had to create a spacer, and take the factory grills off, and hack some of the door trim off (to widen the holes to clear the rubber on the utopias), they extend a little too much for the door trim only problem is now trying to cover the speakers, passanger side is easy, fairly flat but drivers side is too curved (upwards toward s the window controls etc) sound awesome though! bless_you
hippy if you want i can trace out my spacers and email to you the outline of them so you can make your own let me know they fit perfectly behind the stadard door trim. hippy
http://www.jlaudio.com/evolution/XR650CS.html can anyone tell the depth of the dam thing?? its not 82mm is it?? if it is i might be in trouble Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/22465-focal-utopia-splits/#findComment-527975 Share on other sites
Fhrx
I am not too sure myself actually but I would not think they'd be more than 80mm mounting depth. Most 6" midbass drivers are between 60-70 mm mounting depth.
