You've been V quiet Greg. How's the car repair comin along mate?

Been playing with my mates new cup car to distract me from the fact we arent running... Just had a really non motorsport six months. In fact just read a PM from you in September!!

All good. Thinking body kit and carbon everything + high rev 2.4 on e85 for rebuild... by the time I get it done it will be all legal anyhow.

Looks like the weather is going to be rough... so all those not on M's (we ran S on our stock RB20 in 2003 and got thru)are only making up the numbers.

Are you down to socialize or staying home to enjoy the sun??

Greg

I'll be down there looking after the ONLY Team Raceworx car this year.

Come say hello everybody,,,I might get lonely.

Neil.

I saw that car entered, i'm assuming it's not the one that rolled down the hill in 07?

See how cocky I am when I'm not competing this year. :)

Ten bucks says we can beat your time over Arrowsmith in our borrowed STi Snowy ;)

I'm gunna tell squeak!!!!, and yes it was a very slow day at work Wooster i'm glad my

misfortune caused you such joy...

Squeak wouldn't expect anything else, and I'm all talk anyway. I hear Mozz gave her the test and tune through Hellyeah and she came back with the thumbs up :)

I can still picture telling Mr Plod that you were a "tool". HAHA ;)

We are still in it just!! Still havinh issues with the gtr so we have been lucky enough to be lent a 02 bug eye sti showroom spec car. It's the car Ben ran back in targa 04. I have never driven a wrx b4 and will only get to drive it up to launny this morning then straight in to the prologue but we are still in it!! Cant wait!!

what's wrong with the gtr?

After speaking to Matt's dad on saturday night, it's more a case of what's right with it!!!

the Bass straight curse, once ya car come's back across it the guy's in Melbourne don't

tend to give a rat's arse about it...

there is enought tallent in tassy despite what most think to work on these cars. ive heard more horror stories about sending cars interstate that id profer to take my chances with local tuners.

From speaking to people who have sent their cars over to Meb, they guys in Melb don't give a rats while it's over there, let alone when it's back home (of corse there is exeptions to that)

Yeah spoke to YT on saturday night, and the Tall Guy is pretty pumped about the upgrade, recon's

it 30% better car they it was before!!!!, don't recon they'll see which way he went, with no drama's

and good weather, i'm backing the Lambo to win by atleast a minute....

    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
