Dover is one of the great stages I have done. Running it in reverse would have been awesome on the condition you didn't end up in the drink!

*sigh*

This whole experiencing rallies as a virtual spectator is starting to wear thin I must say!

So is actual spectating :spank:

Seriously fast pace in EM this year...did everyone have red cordial for breakfast or something? Sheesh!

Yeah Tassie Matt's times were amazing. Was thinking it's a good time to have retired from EM! (*queue traditional speculation on the legally of his car now! LOL)

Tony Warren must have been shaking his head I'm sure.

I think Blaise is taking the right path going into Classics - that field is starting to look ripe for the picking.

And if this event is anything to go by I'm taking the wrong path with the R35. Wasn't a good event for them at all.

I loved Quinnies interview. "a light came on to tell me i had no abs, and when i arrived at the corner i had no abs"

Matt looked like he was having a crack. I bet Warren is scratching his head now

The "no ABS" thing (and no 4WD at the same time) in an R35 is the default fail mode for everything it seems.

I've even had it happen to me in my one when the brake fluid level JUST dropped below minimum. Even though that means the reservoir is still 70% full....

We saw Quinny's lock-up marks on the way out of Tahune on Saturday arvo...some of the darkest lines you've ever seen!

Went down the Longley stage on Sunday arvo and don't remember it being THAT bumpy. Also the Forestry Comm didn't bother sealing all the potholes on Tahune/Airwalk this year, they just filled them with gravel >_<

ABS is underrated when you are used to it being there! LOL I have a picture somewhere of my ABS failure at PI once - the skids marks were there for months afterwards!

And Longley is massively bumpy. I was watching my video footage from last year on the weekend and Matt and I got a giggles attack mid stage due to the bumps!

I think it was due to a notes call that said "Could be bumpy" and yet we'd already lost all of our fillings!

My dad was down at the FF of Cygnet yesterday and couldn't believe how shit the road condition was through there. Prime bit of road, but the council obviously don't care about it as some of the apex's had huge potholes, which were filled with gravel and by the end of the day empty as it was spread across the road :(

One of the bigger problems though was the locals trying to ruin the event. They deliberately took down the road closure tape after the road was closed and drove onto the stage, it seemed orchestrated as it was probably 10 or more in convoy according to dad.

I've always wondered if the poor condition of the roads is the reason they took the stages around Hobart out of the main Targa event. I drove down the first bit of the Longley stage this morning and yeah...its bit embarrassing. Has the potential to be an awesome road.

We're not sure if we will be dragging the Evo down for another Wrest Point. Unfortunately the cost/benefit ratio is rooted and even more so this year with the very early afternoon finish meaning it is really only a 1.5day event now. Add to the highway (or seaway) robbery that is the "Spirit o Tas" and its not hard to find other things to spend the cash on.

Pity really, because Tahune/Airwalk is the bomb!

Mt Baw Baw in 2 weeks!!? :)

Brisby and I went to check it out on Saturday. Will definitely be a very cool bit of road to run a rally on - its just a shame they couldn't also have used the 30kms of epic road leading up to it as well.

But it's definitely going to be busy behind the wheel - and the last 5kms is definitely STEEP! (Also surprising is that the first 5kms is all downhill).

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
