Guys,

Ive been reading alot of posts in the past where people are talking about 'pushing their cars to the limit'. Now here is my question....

What is the fastest that each of you have driven your line, track or street, and what was it like at that speed? Anyone had a close call in a drag?

Also who here has the quickest recorded 0-400?

This will be interesting... :uh-huh:

Worked out that when the needle hits the other side of the 0 it breaks the speedo;)

Based on revs and gear ratios that happens at about 230-240 but it was still sitting rather well on the "private road". Good thing its insanely low.:)

was that on the way to Bathurst? I remember that stretch (after we stopped at the Mobil) and you boys were flying down that road.. I'm sure it was way over 200 coz we were left at the end of the pack and still doing about 160 :)

Fastest I've been was 230 down a crazy hill coming toward Sydney on the F3.. was pretty sketchy tho, car felt very light in the rear.

i remember that.

i am a *****... i hit 180 at eastern creek, and a top of 160 on the freeway where Charlie lost his mudguard.

I ran a friend once and we *guess* that my car is doing high-ish 13's... like 13.6ish... he was using his G-Tech and was doing 13.2 and was only a little bit quicker than me.

I've done over 180 but I don't know how much over. That was when the car wasn't working properly and the speed cut wasn't working.. But now is about 190... my speedo seems to go to about hte 190 position before chucking a spit.

My best quarter is 14.4 and i am yet to do it again. That was my first ever go at racing.. So I'll try again soon.

Have done a micron over 200 in my 99 mirage and 245 on an old cbr600.

Was racing home from work, errr, ummm, on a pvt rd, yeah, ummm, yer that's it with two mates, both of whom were in '90 model preludes and went over the 200 mark for about 30 secs before the road angled up past flat....went down to 160 like i had my brakes on as soon as the angle changed.....gutless turd.

the bike was also on the way home from work and had a tiny bit left but i was scared :))

Cheers

yeah its as accurate as they ever are... even have 16's on.

Extractors, 2.5"cat, 2" system, cold air intake, k&n, rising rate reg... took a LONG time to get up that fast and couldnt old it in a head wind but it got there. the guys in the big old flat hondas were blown away that i even stayed with them.

Cheers.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
