Morning all

A few of the SAU boys & girl cruised out to somerton for the VMC motorkhana yesterday.

After getting there and seeing how tight and confusing the maps looked, i nearly gave up and went home

but it turned out to be a really fun event.

For my first ever motorkhana, i had a ball...

They were a very freindly bunch which made it good as well...

there was a bit of confusion with how the day was run, perhaps a schedule would be handy.

Good work otherwise by the organisers

Thanks to Bec for comming out and filming

Links to the Youtube vids below.

CLOVERLEAF

TRIPLE LOOP

F&R SLALOM

BUTTERFLY

WALTZ CLOVER

GABLE SLALOM

Thanks

MaT

P.S. There are actually little flags on sticks that we are driving around... they are hard to see on my high quaility copy of these vids,

so if yout look hard enough you may be able to see them.

I had a BALLLLLL

Best 30 bucks i have ever spent...

Huge thanks to MUCC for putting on the day it was tops...

The "tests" were i would say tight i dont think i have thrown my car around like that for a while and had a BALL doing it...

Champ effort to scott for his directions in the morning and crossie for taking over :bunny:

Chris im glad you got that TX out of the way mate and i got my lazy ass out of bed was well and truly worth it..

Cheers to everyone who came down and Al for the lend of his break pedal rubber :/

For $30 you cant go too far wrong.

Those vids look pretty funny not being able to see the flags on sticks. i had a hard enough time trying to see them in real life... especially in reverse :D

Overall it was a pretty fun day, although it could have been organised a bit better.. there was some incredibly random and piss funny cars entered with the biggest characters driving them which made for some entertainment...

Bec, thanks for filming.

Keep an eye out for a Skyline freindly version in the future...

damn, looked out of the window early on Sunday and decided it was going to be too wet... which was really just an excuse to roll over and go back to sleep... which clearly was a mistake cos that looked like fun!

nice videos, pity about not seeing the flags but you still get the idea

Oh well at least if I was in bed I couldn't break my car again

:(

based on some of the results i have seen we would beat them at deca on our maps. thats all that counts. the 'specials' were always quicker, but i thought they would have been quicker given that is all they are good for.

That has got to be some of the greatest fun for $30!

Glad I got roped into joining in the fun. It was a lot of fun and a great laugh! The MUCC guys were very friendly, with many coming up to great us 'New comers'.

There was definantly some wild looking rides there, some look very professional with others looking like a washing machine welded to a frame made from a few bits of metal joined together by dropping it onto the other one from a great height, with an engine bolted to it.

Hanging out to see the results :D

Results are here....

Good work to scotty, fair way up the table...

Interesting the mighty sexpo GTR being beaten in its class by a standard EF Falcon

^^^ Maybe the Bundle of joy has slowed him.... ^^^

And I beat Frysie!! Whoohoo...

thanks to his lack of direction, but a win is a win

Anyhoo

Enjoy

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
