The Friday and Saturday just gone coles/safeway carpark chapel street was home to a defect bus, about 25 cops and 4 vicroads cars.

Not only were they just targeting people going into the carpark but they were pulling people in who were driving up chapel street (up towards Richmond from princess highway)

i know that most of the people on these forums are not the type to be doing "Chap Laps" on the weekend but just thought id give a warning to everyone that they are obviously cracking down on the area and maybey if your car is not 100% RW stay away from the area for a while.

the presence of cops on princess hwy between warrigul rd and clayton friday night was unbelievable! i pulled out of my street to see 3 cop cars on the corner of clayton road. i thought there was an accident or booze bus or something, then driving towards the city saw another two cars pulled over just up the road and another 3 cop cars :-( as this was so unusual i decided to count for the rest of the night, and in total i only drove 50km that evening but saw in total 12 cop cars (all marked) and 6 people pulled over, including a very tidy yellow R34 near huntingdale road :-(

its a shame that like a harmless tradition is been killed off

and im not just talking about laps of chaps

this goes back years. My uncles tell me stories of when they first moved to Geelong and bought cars the same thing would happen. Laps of the main strip and then a burnout to finish the night.

Don't get me wrong i have nothing against the booze/drug busses. but putting a defect busses in places where they know that nice/done up cars are "showcased" is just cruel.

And yes ivan. people still do laps.

Harmless tradition? Are you serious?

I remember being out the front of Lambs one night and I forget how many burnouts I saw. Not to mention the guys lighting it up then flying down the street almost running over people, oh and the torrana that ran up the back of an innocent guy in a magana. Yeah real harmless.

If you want to showcase you're car, how about entering some show and shines??

Don't even get me startd on the extra traffic you muppets cause, yeah it's nice to drive down there an take a look but lap? NO ONE thinks it's cool, chap laps = looserville!

HAHAHA.. LMAO

ive never seen some one been injured.. i got rear ended once on chapel street on a Saturday night buy an old guy in a merc. i bet if it was a p plater in a VL he woulda been paying more attention and looked out for his car instead of looking to the side and going straight up my backside. and as for extra traffic, 95% of the people are doing the same thing so who are you inconveniencing.

edit: i think the only thing that has changed is that the old folk (non teenagers) have been there and done all that stuff

but for people who just got there license this is the kinda stuff we have been waiting years for and then in 5 years time we will probably be the ones flaming the noobs

^^^ agree with Daniel.. not just cause he has an awesome name either lol..

And no.. i wouldnt be caught down there these days.. but back in the day it was a bit of excitement :action-smiley-069:

So anyway back to the issue of cops.. Do people still use nepean hwy, princess hwy, warragul rd etc.. once it gets dark.. ur keen if you do.. :P

there is always another way to get places without taking major roadways.. i might have seen 1 or 2 cops all weekend? food for thought..

NA R33's with interior neons.....sigh......doing chap laps.............double sigh

People doing chap laps in general.......triple sigh

Try living around the area, simply wanting to run down coles for some milk having and having to deal with the latest generation of hektic dose-loving, backward cap wearing tards and the police attention that comes with it. Not fun.

    • If you have a Nissan from Japan and model year is from 2016 to 2024, just say you have an Infiniti Q50 4 doors... Why are telling you have an import?
    • It's definitely not firing order. But I think it should also be made clear that the output that gets fired is the one that corresponds to the input that was switched at the ECU. So you could scramble them up totally so that the numbers meant nothing, and so long as you had the inputs and outputs matched up, you'd be fine. The reason I make that point is that blanket statements about what it is supposed to be don't always hold out in a world where there's been 30 years for the wiring to have been stuffed with.
    • Hello, im asking about this guy - coil igniter on rb25det series 1 r33 s1 engine. I need to know if pins on coil side indicate coils itself from 1-6 or it’s firing order so pin nr1 goes to 1st fired spark plug:(1pin-1firing spark, 2pin-5order firing spark, 3-3, 4-6, 5-2, 6-4…)   photo: https://files.fm/f/k9pdug38uq
    • Remove it. Certainly from the hub face. I'm not in love with leaving it on the wheel assembly surface either - but if it is common to do so, then....maybe fair enough. It's not difficult. Just time consuming. For the hub face you just need a large enough block and suitable grades of abrasive paper to get it off flat. The same would be true of the assembly face. Just more time consuming, probably needing a lot more care. It's defo going to be easier just to assemble the wheels as is, seal them up, and check them periodically to see if there's any movement or loosening of the fasteners, than it will be to remove it though.
    • Hello, I got my wheels powder coated and they've powder coated bloody everything the mating surface and hub (even told them not to lol) anyway should I leave it or remove it. (Would be very hard) I've searched a lot and lots of powder coaters don't mask the mating surface but do mask the hub surface. How bad it powder coat on the mating surface or hub? My question is what should I do?
