Was curious on knowing what the plans for this car are..

Last I heard the owner was overseas, with hopes of getting straight back into it on arrival. This was a good year ago. Saw the car recently at a certain workshop (won't name) and was told the same thing.

http://www.exvitermini.com/ has been crashed for quite some time now.

Any one got some goss :P

  • 1 month later...

Any more on this?

And on the topic of CRD cars, I saw a pic recently of CRD's "RH9" R34 GTR with what looked like GTR700's old rims and possibly tyres on a drag strip - so this car has actually hit the strip. Does anyone know what times it has run? Has it actually earnt the RH9 title?

it hasnt run a 9 yet, but definitely has the MPH and power to run well into the nines.

Anyone know what power its made and what the MPH was?

Was it run at full weight and in full street trim?

Anyone know of a full weight 34 running quicker than 9.7?

Thanks Rob

RH9 will be hitting the strip again soon....its full weight Rob and will smash that time you are so proud of. (sh1t stir to be taken in jest)

Its now under the guidance of a new workshop....it will fulfil its so far untapped potential.

Twoogle will be back very soon to....8's are the target...the fastest genuine road registered GTR in Aust.

Great, and best of luck to him but what MPH has it run so far?

And surely you arn't calling it RH9 if it hasn't even done a 9??? (an equally harmless windup)

Rob

Hehe...i constantly give John (the owner who called the car RH9) a dig at the fact my car has run more 9 sec passes than his car has run 10's...hehe

I think he should have waited till the car had ran the times before putting the RH9 number plates on it...as he cops a lot of sh1t over it.

He runs it on slicks too....which is against RH9 regs....i think he should switch to street rubber and earn the RH9 tag first.

Might be coming over the ditch soon Rob....will call in if i do.

Last I heard about the topic the RH9 plated 34 hasn't ran into the 9's yet..

Im sure DiRT could add to this

lol i remember when that muppet show was in Melb what, 4-5 years ago now?

All arrogant and being wankers basically to the Vic crew who just happened to be where for our drag day...

Was funny half way through the day when they had to come and ask SAU members for parts to borrow that they 'left behind'.

It has the RH9 plates on it way back then, semi-stripped interior and i think even the glass was replaced with plex...

Its still good to see so many years later still hasnt produced the goods.

Laughable at best.

I know Mario (GTR700) upset some people but did John?

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
