Yeh too many tight corners, not enough fast open ones. And having tight turns at the end of long straights is a QR National defect so why copy that?

Actually a bigger version of the Club circuit could be good but its hard to tell the scale so....

Dont tight corners give more opportunity for overtaking rather than faster corners? I watched the hungarian GP the other week, thats a fast flowing track and there were only two passes all race.

Something like Mangy Cours... Sharp first turn, leading into a varying radius, sweeping second turn, which leads to the back straight (pretty long too) which terminated at the tight Adelaide hairpin.. Or something like La Source hairpin, tundering through Eau Rouge, followed by the Radillion kink which is linked to a long back straight, which once again terminates at a very tight chicane (Les Combes?)..

Probably my two favourite parts on any circuits on the F1 calender...

yeah its a bit of a shame - when they announced this it sounded like a major extension - but looking at the track map it is 99% same as current with some extra linking tracks so they can hire them out seperately and make more money :)

instead for renting the track for 10 a day now they can charge 30k

awsome

ardc suck teh balls

I thought the same thing. It's hard enough (and expensive enough) getting on the track now for chumps like us. I can just see them jacking up the prices to cover the costs....

Looks great, shame i probably wont be able to afford to drive there.....

Interesting that the new circuit runs clockwise now. Should mean lower speeds on the main straight due to running uphill, but then again, the old 'turn 1' will bring you onto the straight with more speed to start with.

I think the investment by the NSW government is a promising one as it will be drawcard for other motorsport events to come down under. However is it just me or is Sydney really bad for spectator numbers of motorsport and even sport in general? Eastern Creek was designed for motorcycles and have a look how that went, the GP is held in freezing cold penguin friendly Phillip Island. Being so close to Sydney I would have thought the numbers would have been quite large but you just have to look at recent V8 Supercar races to see numbers are well done, even when compared to those of Victorian rural races like Winton. I would hope that with the track investment they incorporate off street racing at a reasonable price to encourage young people to do it in a controlled environment and even offer subsidised driver programs for people under 25.

EC is a rubbish place to spectate, hence the reason the numbers are so low. Awkward positioning of stands and spectating areas is to blame for this. i don't see how this new layout will solve that problem.

i watched the super taxis there a while back. we could see them into turn one, down into the hair-pin, up over the top and disapear around the mountain, then back into view again. how much do you want to see? this was sitting on the hill. there is no seating position at any track where you can see the whole track. i payed $600 for my ticket at Melbourne, we saw them come down the straight through turns one and two and that was it. and i loved it because i was there. the atmosphere of being at the track is awesome, and nothing stops you from walking around to get different vantage points. sydney are just poor supporters of anything, whether it be sport or motorsport. i dont think the track has anything to do with it.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
