I ride a Dobermann Pinscher, the paintjob on my frame is a little pitted due to perspiration and general non-maintenance.

I'm planning to bring this bike over from singapore, is the pitted paintjob and issue to the quarantine people?

ok so

kinda thinking of getting a 2nd bike to go with the alias

not exactly sure if i'll do it or not

but... toying with the notion of getting a designated road bike,

the two im looking at are, CRX....

crx1_black1.jpg

and the Bowery Mashup

Bowery-MashUp-Grey.jpg

crx-one hammers freaking hard as a road bike, however, it has too many things in common with the alias, and if it has too much in comon with the alias then i worry i'll favour one bike over the other, plus the mashup is a single speed, therefore it's a completely different ride to the alias and is therefore no threat to the alias... plus i think the bowery mashup looks fuckkinngggg hot

wat you guys reckon?

how much you like the bowery will depend on whether you run the freewheel cog or the fixed wheel. fixed wheels take a fair bit of getting used to as the pedals turn whenever the wheel does. this means no jumping gutters etc unless you are extremely talented. however doing wheelie's backwards certainly impresses people.

depending on how flat it is around where you ride will also determine how much you like the bowery. only having 1 gear means that it will be ok if it is flat, but if it is hilly you will have a bit more trouble.

and you say that having the bikes too much the same may mean that you like 1 more than the other, having 2 bikes totally different may mean that you hate 1 and love the other and may not want to ride 1 at all. at least if they are similar the amount that you prefer one over the other won't be much. and it isn't like you are using them for 2 completely different things, like 1 for cross country or downhill and 1 for road where 2 completely different bikes are what you need. you are pretty much using them both for the same thing.

it'd be an freewheel SS, i dont see what the purpose of everyone having fixies is!!!!

and, basically, it's flat with a few hills all over the place, small hills but hills none the less, they're a challenge

this is my thoughts

alias

versatile

technological

gears

shocks

discbrakes

"lazy" (can change gears at a hill)

mashup

simple

compact

purpose built for speed

challenging ride (better for fitness maybe?)

like yeah, both bikes ARE being used for the same thing, BUT, the difference is "i'm feeling lazy, i wanna use gears/i wanna go trails riding" or "i feel like a workout and am going to a cafe and want something that looks trendy parked next to my soy-a-cino-latte"

also, do these bikes go FAST? the net says they're built for NUTSO speed however when it est rode one it seemed similar speed to my alias? if they go fast then i'm pretty much sold come tax time!

too lazy to change usernames,

your top speed will be slower on a single speed than a flat bar road as the gearing is made to be at a ratio that gives a mix of low gearing for climbing and higher gearing for on flats/down hill.

flat/down hill speed you will be quicker on the alias because you have taller gears that you can change into to go faster. more so on the down hill rather than flat.

the crx you will be faster uphill, flat and downhill than the alias.

because they are different. basically they are just a big bmx with small bars. they are a trend. they sell because they are different, not because they are good. just like girls who wear those stupid big sunnies. they buy them because it is fashion, not because they actually look good.

or it's like an iphone....... LOL

hmm.... and i am definately 100% the kind of idiot that falls for this stuff.. and i won't lie, i still want it haha

...i more want it for fitness.. like it's ride position and the fact that if you have to ride up a hilll for a while tough shit you gotta deal with it...

I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
