It's looking very much like this will be the last Texikhana at the Sutton Road complex. Worse than that, after MASSIVE interest early, only 20 people have stumped up the cash for the current event so unless we get 6 more entrants by friday morning, IT WILL BE CANCELLED!

We have plans for other, more local, Texi styled events next year however none will include the famed back track of Sutton Road. We plan the event around 40 entrants so at 26, if we get them, you will get plenty of goes. If it goes ahead this will be your last chance. If it doesn't, we've already missed the boat.

If you're thinking about entering, please do so immediately.

Come on people! Everyone that went last time had a blast! It's a great day to get out and see what your car can do in a safe and fun environment!

Also a great way to meet more people in the club and put some faces to names.. and enjoy a drink or two the night before!!!

No really, I will be very upset with the club members if they don't join up and make this happen by coming along.

I have not been able to be involved in any motorsport (barring karts over a year ago) for almost 2yrs now and if this doesn't go ahead I will be bitterly dissapointed, and more than likely stop entering any motorsport from this point forward. :D

Please, for the love of god (and my motorsport addiction) join up so we can continue to have great events organised by great people, in this here great state of NSW.

Do it.

Hope i am not in the class of members that acted keen then pulled out...

I am still keen, very keen in fact, but pulled out because of the screamer pipe issue...Just didn't want to be the guy who instigated SAU or Sutton rd complex receiving bad press due to noise...

Anyway hope you get the numbers...

Sorry guys, if my car was in one piece I would definitly be there...

Get your butt to Sydney and drive my 200ZR back down :D

Come on peoples.... lets get involved...

All participants from the previous Texi's have had a blast to the best of my knowledge... I know the screamer pipe rule knocks a couple of people out but we usually have much more of a turnout by this point!

And I can promise that I'l try and get Smoky to dress up again :(

if the skid pan was not so small then i would make more effort to go... i think the piss up the night before hand would be more fun then the driving excersizes.. hope no one takes this the wrong way. If i can sell this rb25det for $1700 i will go for sure.

Not directed at you bud - just want less people without genuine reasons why they cannot make it.

People saying "I am interested", then nothing heard back from them don't help the cause because this is what the club gauges interest from for these types of events. If they then fail to attend, the club goes in the red for it, and generally wont run events again, like this thread expresses.

Those with genuine reasons are obviously not at fault, and when that happens, there is not much that can be done.

Yep, understand....

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
