Yeah it was 4-5 in the end but that was just to cover the hire and insurance costs, nothing towards the capital purchases we were making. There is still an event per month to go this year and the Texikhana theme is not dead.

thanks to the wanks that gave us false hope..... we should kick them out of sau, there no help anyway lol

Now I don't think that's very fair Kujotk, I'm sure everyone tried hard to get the numbers together, but in times where petrol is hurting the hip pocket the most, and being in another state, needing an over night stay, the money quickly adds up before you even get onto the track... I don't even enter and it's quite easily a $300 weekend.

There are still plenty more events throughout the rest of the year, and we have some plans for more events in the future. This is more of a hickup then a major problem :P

im still shitty and will be untill i finnish a few beers of tonight....... also this had a track and a pan, i havent seen anything else like this except for the previous texi and this would have been the ultimate beginners introduction to get to know my car better...... i'll be looking forward to other events....

haha, I'm already a few beers in... hence the calmness :P

Texi is in no way dead, we were never going back to Sutton anyway due to problems that arose... We are looking for a replacement, and although it won't be exactly the same, it will be just as good :)

That's right, we've already found a tentative venue which is promising, so soon the process will begin on securing it so we can organise our next Texi. Even better, if this venue is the go, then it's going to be nice and local, so there's a minimum saving of roughly $200 per entrant because we won't have to worry about driving down, overnight accommodation, and getting back the next day.

this sounds excellent..... ive been looking online and in an old gregorys 13th edition 1995 street directory to see what i could find and once upon a time i recon amaroo park would have been nice and local, only 10min drive from my place lol

how about we ask a bunnings for use of their car park after they close on a sunday night lol,,,,,

also can we make this new event as soon as possible, and if this new place suits us, is there a rough estimate of what month this will be held?

maby its too soon to ask but im just keen to go

Yeah, it's a shame Sydney's lost soooo many race venues over the years - Amaroo Park, Castlereagh drag strip, and probably at least another 2-3 more... Oran park has been sold to developers and will be converted to a housing estate in the not-too-distant future, so do yourselves a favour and get out there and use it while it still exists!

Did you know that before Westmead Hospital was built that that site was the old venue for what became Parramatta City Raceway?

Bunnings car-park is probably a little to no chance of happening, unfortunately...

We've got no idea when this new "replacement" event will take place, considering the Texi was only cancelled today. We've got to make sure we can use the venue, then find an available date, and go from there...

thought i might mention i'm still a texi virgin...... i want to loose it asap.... i hate being a virgin..... im a skyline owner whos a texi virgin *hangs head in shame*

    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
