I thought i would just vent to you all as i know everyone will be able to feel my pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely devo!!!

Sunday morning around 11am i was driving in redcliffe to go pick up my hungover boyfriend from his mates house! I had only been there a couple of times so i wasnt too sure which street i was meant to turn down!

Any way, I past Field street on Epsom ave and realised......oh crap that was the street i was meant to turn down!!! So i proceeded along Epsom ave waiting for a safe place to turn (as there was kerbs/trees in the middle of the road, separating both lanes).

I found a driveway coming up on the right that was reasonable low for my car to get up on. So i checked my rearview mirror, saw a white holden VS commodore about 150m behind me.

I judged that he was far enough back for me to make my turn. So i put my indicator on, slowed down and pulled to the left side of the road so i could get my big car around on to an angle for my car to get up the driveway.

While in the turning process i was looking out my drivers window and thought to myself...... where has that car gone? then................... BBBAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! no screaching of the brakes or anything!!!

This guy didnt even see me!!!!!!

I blacked out for about 30secs coz i hit my head on my drivers window, when i came to i pulled my car up on the driveway and started SCREAMING and CRYING!! hahaha (such a f***n sook)

This guy jumped out (must have been in his 50's) with his wife and daughter and come walking over. As they were walking over i screamed at them...... DIDNT YOU SEE ME INDICATE AND BRAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha (as u do)

To my astonishment, this guy and his family started telling me that ITS MY FAULT!!! apparently i did a U Turn right in front of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAT THE? (the bad thing is I started to believe him! but never said anything)

He also said that i did not have my indicators or my brake lights! EXCUSE ME!! i said!! MY LIGHTS ARE LED TAIL LIGHTS............. YOU CANT F***IN MISS THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking back now, I dont thinke he even saw me at all........... as he didnt even brake to miss me................

OH it gets better! He proceeded to tell me that he has been driving for 30years and is older than me, so that makes him a safer driver! and he has only had one accident! PFFFTT i have been in no accidents until this loser!

I was devo! so anyway my car is stuffed! the wheel is bent, i need a new rear quater panel, new rim, new bumper, new side skirt, and thats only the cosmetic stuff! I will find out what else is stuffed and keep ya updated!

The guys car had to be towed, his front end was really ugly!!! I could still drive away as my rear wheel took all the impact!

I have provided photos of the damage :P

And i have included a diagram just incase you cant understand how it happend! hahaha

So poor Anahera is off the road for a while. :D:banana:

But ill keep u updated on whats happening!

eeks..sorry to hear that ><

i saw it at this years auto salon and it was looking mint.

I think if you put your case forward to the insurance company, it would seem you are not in the wrong. Good luck with the claim. Was police called to the scene?

Yeh i have already rung my insurance, the said im totally not at fault coz i was hit in the rear and he hit me!

no police, but i reported it to the police afterwards :)

Oh man

I lost my stagea in almost the same circumstances so I really feel for you.

Mind you, I was the "idiot" on the continuing road with a WRX doing the u-turn in front of me.

He lost

Sorry to hear that.

Similar thing happened to my friends honda euro. He was making a U turn and got hit as well. Unfornt. he was found at fault. I hope its different for you... As he got hit in the driver side door. Not the rear.

Whats with all the skylines getting hit atm?...

**touch wood**

And ihate it when they come up and say they have been driving for longer bla bla, as that doesnt mean sh~t. Everyone makes mistakes no matter how long you have been driving for.

I bet if he hit a grandma or grandpa he would said it was their fault as they are too old to be driving or something sh~t like that.

lame.

Anyway i hope it all works out and the car is back on the road asap.

ACTUALLY you need to be careful saying you pulled left to turn right - that is an offence, it is called turning from incorrect position on the road and it gives following drivers the impression that you are turning left or pulling over notwithstanding you are indicating to the right.....

choose your words carefully on the report although from the impact, he is going to have a hard time to say he could not see, I mean it is not as if he was level with you when you turned, you must have almost been right the way through the turn and halfway into the next lane for him to smack you side on at the rear like he did.

I would have decked him!

Thanks for your support guys!

My insurance said it is totally not my fault, i explained the whole situation and they said because he hit me in the rear it is his fault!

On the police report i was very carefull in what i had written. As you can see from the diagram the road was pretty wide and i was pretty much in the middle when he hit me.

So he was driving more to the middle of the road!

My bf said there is some chasis damage............... mmmmmmmm NEW SKYLINE? heehehehe nah im devo i want mine back!!! hahaa

It went on the tow truck about 2hrs ago to get quotes so all i can do is sit and wait! :)

But mind you, i think my car is bad luck. This is the second time it has been hit on this side (first time was more door if anyone remembers), The whole right side of my car will be new panels soon! hahahahaha might be time to move on to a new project!

Wont be cruising for a while guys

I was utilising the whole road (which is not an offence), i put my R indicator on then slowed down towards the left.

So there wouldnt have been any confusion.

Dont worry i didnt write that on the police report. I actually got a friend who is a "Public Servant" to help me write the report. So all sweet

Even if you did pull slightly left to turn right, he should have been far enough back to see that you were slowing down, which means having enough time to brake until your car was off the road. Even so you said this road is pretty wide, so why did you even have to go left before right?? You could have just gone onto the other side of the road to the driveway, but it looks like you were trying to get on the driveway more the other way around

This happened to me on the way to central TAFE last year, I did the same thing, indicated right to do a U turn, moved slightly to the left then *BANG*...

I don't care, she fcked her stupid little POS charade, her left light was broken and most of he bumper tore off the front... I sustained a very slight scratch on my rear right wheel arch and my wheel got a few marks... Pretty much a case of Skyline and me 1 - stoopid bisch in crappy charade 0..

Still, that is of no good to you, bad luck ey, dero prick in a crumbledore...

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
