Hey all, Just got a Psp Slim. It has firmware version 3.95, Im trying to load 4.01 m33-2 but ive been reading guides and all I have find is that I require a Pandara battery mod which doesnt really interest me..

This is my 2nd Psp and I managed in the first to load 3.77m33 without any battery mods. So whats changed?? I forgot how I did the last one...

Any help greatly appreciated!

if your new psp is slim and lite. then you will have some trouble downgrading it. It's mainly because slim and lite can't downgrade to a firmware that is easily flashed.

that's why Pandora Battery is the most eaiest way because it will downgrade and flash it at once.

If you still have your 2nd PSP and that is the fat (version 1) version. then use your battery as a pandora battery.. flash your slim and lite PSP and then turn your battery back into a normal battery again (i've done this plenty of times).

Lol how did you kill your battery?

I got the PSP when it first came out..

Hooked up with custom firmware.

Lovin' life best investment i ever made.

Currently playing Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and by far the best graphical and cinematic orientated game to grasp the capabilities of the PSP !

haha are you serious.

Thats a lil bit of bad luck i guess.

But well worth the wait i guess

I still have my orignal japanese PSP with the original V1.50 firmware. never been upgraded or downgraded. can play roms etc. pretty sweet. haven't used it for at least a year though

Beer Baron, wanna sell it? Original Jap PSP = Better Screen :P

33SOM, once u get the battery sorted the rest is childs play. Dont give up perseverance will pay off!!

BTW: Depending on your method ull prolly have to flash 4.01 M33-1 first then upgrade it with -2, then load the 1.50 kernel add on, and remember if 1.50 homebrew games dont work, try putting them into the 4XX folder.

Just throw me a PM if u need any help.

I got a pandora battery. Flashed my PSP slim to m33 and it works beautifully. You can basically download gams and load them onto the memory stick and load them straight off it. Can also run emulator to play arcade games as well. Don't have much time to play with it now thou. If you are in sydney and need a hand unbricking hand, send us a PM.

I have the Phat PSP and tried to work out how to use custom firmware but I didn't get very far :merli:

Are there any FAQs or anything like that? Not sure what firmware update I have i'll have a look when I get home.

Ive been playing Gran Tursimo 2 converted from ps1 :merli:

BigJimmy there are plenty of guides out there. You just have to google for them.

U dont need a Pandora battery for firmware earlier than 3.40 i believe.

U need a Fat Psp with custom firmware to make a pandora battery with a program which is reversable. So I broke my battery for nothing lol

Good stuff, were u able to borrow a mates PSP? Wish I was lucky to do it like that but I couldnt get my hands on a custom PSP.

For peeps who need help check out the after dawn forums 33som posted up!

I can do PSP mods for you guys for only $20 if you want.

I have a few pandora batteries that also act as a normal battery for sale.

If you live too far to get to me I can post out the pandora and also a magic memory stick.

To be honest though, once you get a pandora, it is piss easy.

    • Yeah pretty impressive hey, good to see quality products not over-shooting their prices. That's what drew me to buy the hypergear turbo, just a shame I've never got the chance to see it in action
    • Thank you GTSBoy and MBS206 I have done the compression test with the motor out of the vehicle, reason for the test was to see if I needed to remove the head and do rings etc while its out. I'm in the process of respraying the vehicle and tidying up a few things. Story behind it all is I've just purchased the skyline and it was running when I got it, never drove it on the street though as I wanted to pull it down and do it all up again before registering it. the gentleman I purchased it from told me the motor has a forged bottom end and has a decent tune through it but I was going to pull the sump off anyway to see if it is a forged bottom end. that's why I thought id do a compression test beforehand.
    • Man, I'm kind of amazed that the price of the turbo has not changed in 7 years. Everything else is inflating beyond reason, but not this? Good on Tao / hypergear I guess? Anyways, good luck with the sale!
    • I'm selling my brand new, in the box, never used Hypergear ATR45 - and I had some additions I paid for a few yrs back when I purchased it. Never ended up having the rest of the money to add all the mods at once, so I just ended up slowly selling each part. I originally had it internally gated, with the dump pipe, however I found it was incompatible with what I was going to use it for, so I contacted (I think Ken) from Hypergear, and he and I messaged back and forth & he got me to ship the turbo back, where they modified it & made it externally gated, and gave me the 5 bolt dump pipe attachment for custom welding. (Photos below) This turbo like I said has never touched the inside of an engine bay, it's completely brand new, never used, been sitting in the same box it arrived in, covered in plastic & all. Below are the photos of it: And while the guys at Hypergear were making it in-shop, they sent me some photos of the process: I'm looking at selling this just because I'm in need of the money right now, and don't have plans on modifying the 34 anytime soon - and from reviews & peformance sheets, this turbo had amazing results back when I was researching. The turbo was purchased in 2018 for $1.9k, with the mods I got added on. Looking at the website now, for the same turbo they sell (ATR45SAT), with the current addons it adds up to $1830 for the turbo Current addons included: - Bolted dump adaptor - Ball bearing CHRA - Braided oil feeding line So I'm looking to possibly sell it for around $1800, with shipping included in that 1.8k, It cost me around $120 to ship - so yeah thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone was interested in purchasing. Cheers!
