Sunroofs.

I'm trying to decide whether I would prefer my upcoming R33 GTS-T to have a factory sunroof or not.

Are there any common problems with them (such as leaks, etc)? Do those of you with sunroofs actually use them?

I think Skylines look better without sunroofs, but I've never had one before and summer's coming...

I love a car with a sunroof, my old 200sx had one but unfortunately I couldn't find a skyline with a sunroof when I was looking.

Just be carfeul that you can fit in OK if there is a sunroof, depending on how tall you are and where you place your seat it can be quite tight.

i got a factory one in my r33 and its sweet never had a sunroof before and it totally rules... raise it a bit for some cool air, or open it up and jam your head out!!!

I reckon they look sex-c as with a sunroof. Love the electric controls on them, no crappy pop up manual thing like some cars. With it fully open, and windows down, pretty damn nice in summer. Even at night its sometimes nice to let it open and be able to see the stars shining in. Pity i live in melbourne where the weather is completely shithouse during winter and therefore has to remain closed

Never had any remote problems with leaks in mine, think the factory jobs are spot on. Even the roof mouldings and things are slightly different to fit it.

Would be nice if they opened a bit further though to let more air while its not in "moon roof" mode. Thats my only complaint.

yep sunroofs rule ... and skylines don't have no dodgy ones either ... u know those ones u get where the whole glass thing goes out ... nice controls too ... be sure to get one if u can

I wish my car had one.....

Anyone know how much they are to get put in ?? After market electric??

As much as i love my Skyline, i wouldnt (a) have bought it or (B) continue to like it as much as i do, if it didnt have a sunroof.

I miss the sunroof that my R32 had.

Is it possible to get a sunroof from a wrecked R33 and put it in a R33 that hasn't got a sunroof ??

Is it worth it ?? Will it work ?? Who can do it in Sydney ??

Mr RB20 - I remember about 18 months ago there was a bloke selling the whole roof of a R33 WITH the sunroof for $500 !!!

Pretty sure that it didn't include the head lining though..

I think you could do it. Usually the factory roofs in cars all have the mounting spots for sunroofs (if a sunroof was a factory option).

I've got one on mine. My god are they good to have. The only problem iv'e found is that if u leave the inner cover closed at night, condensation builds up in the morn. I've got the smallest amount of rust on the inner part of the sunroof.

my old ma70 toyota supra had an aeroroof. when i sold the car i knew i would miss it so i tried to get a line with a sunroof as compensation. couldn't find one and i regret that i didn't get one especially that summer is coming up...

sunroofs are great but if your over 183 cm and need to wear a helemt for a while it can be difficult

a factory sunroof won't leak, i have one in my r33 and it's really good.

don't get an aftermarket sunroof because you run the risk of causing damage to the roof panels if they do a shit job

i got mine put in, full electronic looks great just as good as factory have had ova a 1yr not a single problem its actually slightly bigge than factory which is a bonus its the identical one that fits on commodores, monaro, and the utes, holden does not make cars with factory sunroofs they are all aftermarket made by ebasto.

its set me back $1400 i was happy to hard to find a skyline with one.

I have to say I love my sunroof, looks very cool. I have had no problems with leaks but it is a very tight squeeze on track days with the helmut on.

when i was looking for a 33 it HAD to have one.... even so I looked at a few autos. My surf and soarer both have them and I couldnt live without one.

I have no head clearance troubles in my car and im over 6 foot.

Never had a leak problem, but I tend to leave it on tilt all the time (looks better and also i forget) and when i close it u can hear a whistle for about 15mins until the seal settles back in... but thats onhly after its been open for a few days.

Sounds a bit too extreme for my liking.

I thought you could just buy the parts from a wrecker and get someone to install it.

RON-15H, where did you get your sunroof installed from ??

What happened with the lighting assembly on the roof inside the car ??

Did they move it or did you lose it ??
