Hi All,

Thought it would be a good idea if we were all to post up what our favourite mods to our cars are. Thinking this will influence eachother to what people have done and what theyve found to be most rewarding mod.

When posting your favourite mod please include how much it cost you, why its your fav. and if its not an "off the shelf" item, where you got it done/made

To kick things off: :(

Favourite Mod:

EBC (electronic boost controller), Greddy Profec B spec II ( $350ish new from whorebay). Followed closely by SAFC II.

Why I Like It:

Made the stagea so much more lively with only a few extra PSI. The ability to have granny spec (Lo) and goodbye petrol mode (hi), I personally think are a must if your driving ur stag as ur only car.

lets see how this goes :)

External gate and TD06 i had on my 180.

Whole setup cost me over 3K

but damn it was worth it seeing the face on the trev went u went past them with the gate screaming and the tyres turning!!

God i miss that car.

But other best mod done for sure was a slightly illegal one :P 25mm wheel spacers, transformed the handling on my R34 drift car, made it sooo stable.

best stagea mod... well havnt driven one long enuf to mod one yet... they keep breaking on me...

Tough call...

In order;

1) Fuji/Kakimoto exhaust combo - niiice sound & very nice increase in power (looks good too :P )

2) Nismo LMX5 rims - work beautifully with the sky blue, huge grip increase over stockies (Kenda types)

3) Opening up airbox - doesn't run out of breath now.... at all.... ever

4) Hi Flow Turbo (T3 core) - only logs in at number 4 because I have not installed the Emanage Ultimate (next - can't wait!) or a boost controller.

too hard to say best mod, for me, lol 'cause Ive done too many

a) hiflow turbocharger (but to choose that you must include the Toshi ecu remap, the safc/sitc/z32afm/adj.fpr/ebc combo) and dynotune setup

b) automatic gearbox shift kit

c) whiteline swaybars and bilstein shocks

More boost... Only mod ive really done as exhuast, induction ect was already on the car...

Why.. Becase its goes harder and i love the look on peoples faces when they hear a wagon screaming past with a nice flutter at the end

I don't have a favorite and some are not installed in the car year but anyways.

in no particular order

1. Rims (18" BBS Rims - came with the car)

2. Exhaust

3. HKS GT2535 (Not installed - will be very soon)

4. Cooling Pro Stealth Intercooler (Not installed - will be very soon)

5. Blitz SBC iD Spec-R Boost Controller (hopefully to be installed this weekend)

6. Stereo

JJ bellmouth dump with X force hi flo cat and 3" cat back. $400.

My $20 two stage boost control, better than earthing solenoid, caus its controlable and a fuel saver,

well where do i start:

1. $15000 stereo (includes 6 tvs) always entertained

2. Greddy cams love that lumpy idle (louder than my old mans V8)

3. Having a 260rs

4. 300km/h dolphin speedo that was customised to illluminate blue

1. zaust.... nuff said.. that alone is the best bang for buck and gives the car more pickup.

Fuji and hks re pretty pimp..

i was lucky enough for my skyrine to get a CMS custom exhaust ( turbo back) for like 500 bucks.. ( second hand)

And my stag came with one, that with a pod i put on its pretty niiice.

With a fmic id be pretty stoked..

Theres an S15 im looking at now (99% in the bag, deposit down) that has every mod under the sun done to it already bar a turbo ( hes giving me the manifold for it as well).

When i took it for a test drive it made me happy in the pants...looking foward to tomorrow when i pick it up

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
