before i made this thread i searched for a month. i live in japan so i have every drift tengoku magazine, option magazine ect ect, i have scoured the net. the only thing i have found is, 1 tiny tiny picture of a silver R33 with abflug flares, but he car is so incredibly riced out that its not an accurate representation of that they would actually look like. also, there is a car by ATTK'D called the "tuoho GTR" its a white R33 gtr with abflug flares and its in option2 from about july/aug time frame.

i have never seen the viva garage over fenders on a 33 gtst. supposedly they are +20 or so, so it would make it look like a GTR in the rear. but, they only go up to the body line, half way up the panel, so they would look liek total shit if you sk me. thats why i am leaning toward the flare route. but there just arent many R33s out there with flares, let alone 33 specific flares and not universal units.

C&Y sports, a prevelant tuning shop is about 3 mins from my house, and they have a silver one in their showroom with flares and a 26 swap, but they got the flares off an old ciffy.

i would hate to think i would be one of only a handful to try out the abflug flares on an R33, but the fact is, i just havent seen them out there.

i guess if you come across anything post it. thanks. "cheers mate" lol.

i had GTR rear quater panels fitted to my 32, cant see why it couldnt be done to a 33. about $1800 for panels Genuine.

payed a beater cash to fit them but if you are a beater/painter it will be easy for you.

hi guys... with the rear quarters i brought genuine 05 STI front guards ($240 each i think) chopped them up and welded them to the rear. Fronts i just cut the lip section off a VL calais front guard welded them on and then pulled my original guards out a bit hope that helps ;)

this is a great thread !!

but how come there are no R32 GTR getting big fenders done ??

i have been eyeballing the Abflug flares, and thats probably what ill end up getting. they are for the GTR but im sure theyll rivet flush on a gtst.

R33 GTSTs are just so narrow, and look like pencils going down the road.

Bit of a thread revival but was wondering if people had some pics of 32's with some mild flares.

I'm going for GTR offset rims so with bigish rubber I'll need a bit of a flare to clear. I want it to stand out but don't want anything bolt on or really big.

I was considering GTR guards but I don't want to look like a slow GTR, I'd prefer to look like a fast GTSt haha.

I just want to know what I want for when I go the the panel beaters. Thanks guys.

i made my own

hey Kevzilla. great idea moulding STI front guard sections onto your rear quarters. did you cut away the metal from the existing guard that would have been underneath?? how did you clean this up to make it look all smooth inside??

also it looks like you have a GTR front bar but you said your front guards were standard and you just pulled them out a bit.... how did you mount the front bar? looks original too with the plastic bottom lip??

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
