Good work, Doof, in getting it all up and running, and to Jay for securing the lighting and sound rigs for use on the display!

Good work on the effort of ALL the people who took part in it - the cars attracted a lot of attention and good publicity for the club and forums, and quite a few membership forms were handed out as well.

It was good to catch up with "Xmetal" Ian, "NXTIME" Charlie, "~Jay~", and "Zilch*" Steven, and it was nice to meet Che "Bakes" and Marian. ALL of the cars looked great, but Marian's car is scarily clean!

Finally, congratulations on the team for taking out the awards for Best Club Display and Best Club Performance!!!

good shit doof, but i didn't see your car there?????

nope, mine wasn't there... I have some damage done by an uninsured driver that kinda made it rather ugly to look at. I'm buying up the parts needed to fix it now :D

Hopefully, it should be in the next one, but I would like to get as many high powered lines there as possible.

700 photos here to sift through, I shit you not. Just finished dumping them to the XHD, i'll start editing tomorrow.

I'll post a link to the gallery soon.

What a weekend! i'll write a full blurb when i'm not half asleep. :D

The lighting was awesome man, great exposure. Heard some great feedback by some of the attendee's. Didnt tell them i was with the Club, told them after i asked them what they thought.. "Professional" & "The real Enthusiasts".

Well thats all i needed to hear :D

>.< lost the USB cable for my N96 and Camera -.- .. left them at my mates place, will upload pics when i get that back.

*waits for Xmetal's pics*

Had a great time, was really good meeting Ian, Bakes, Marijan, Charlie and Carl. Sorry if I missed someone.

Big thanks to Doof and Jay for doing the ground work on this, and I'll definitely be back for the next one if they'll let me..

Someone has to represent the GTS-Ts!! :( Oh and I won't work during the nights that the event is on next time, thank god for Red Bull/Samedi/*V* etc

Also I have to say that I think Marijan was rather hard done by in the best engine bay award category, the 2 cars that won were pushed from their stands and then trailered home.. Surely they should have to be engine bays that work??

Congrats to everyone from SAU!

It was an awesome setup!

You guys deserve the wins!

Im absolutely shocked! The level of Autosalon gets higher and higher everytime I go! Its mind blowing!

Good to see a few more performance based cars around too!

I can't say that that the show cars and bling blong is my scene, but its important to know about, see and experience everything the modified car scene has to offer!

It was a MASSIVE change going from Autosalon on Saturday where every little millimeter of car har was clean, polished, shiney and showy and then on Sunday going to a drift day :(

But for me I think I prefer the ghetto-ness and boro style of drifting. Any day of the week id prefer to be out drifting than spectating at a show.

It was great to catch up with Doof and the boys, well done on the quality of the cars and display guys, it really looked proffesional (especially the fake wood floor)... Also sorry if I ditched you on Saturday night :) I cant help being so popular, everybody wants a bit of Mick :)

Cheers!

Hehe, I think it helped that the Nur spec still had it's race stickers and semi slicks on from Bathurst :P

Big ups for the lighting and most of that gear has to go to ~Jay~ really, he loves doing the shows and he really knows his shit :)

Another thing I think people enjoyed was the volume of our music... you could only hear it if you were standing at our stand looking at it, not 300 feet away! Even though our gear was rated for around 500 people...

You still fell asleep in the car... I thought that was supposed to be my job :P

And yeah, he was really hard done by... It's a bit rough when a car with an unfinished engine bay wins best engine bay... You can't win best car if it's in a pile of pieces...

Mick, always good to see you and the missus :)

My Saturday night was interesting enough without you :P

He always has semis on that car Steve :) It's all he buys for it.

Oh and I only sat in my car cos the bright lights were affecting my tired eyes and I wasn't napping for long! You try working Thursday night till 3:30am, getting up at 9am to start prepping the car till it's time to take her to the show, getting to bed about 3am and getting up at 8am Saturday for the 1st day of the show. Staying at the show all day then going home and working from 7 till 4am, then getting up at 8am again to get back out to the show :) We'll see how awake you are then... endrant LOL :(

    • Given you're running a 2.8 and my 2.5 is not really like for like, I suspect there could be a bit more timing you could give it. What is the kW yield per degree you're putting through it? Here's my E85 map to give you an idea, where it was I could still get another 3~4kW per degree thrown at it.
    • It turns out that Setrab make a fan specifically for the oil cooler which is great and I've installed it with minimal swearing. I removed my 2x 12in push fans from the front of my aircon condenser and wired them into this. My main thermo fans kick on when I use the aircon anyway and would effectively already be working as puller fans through the condensor which is infront of the rad. The push fans (understandably) didn't really do much in the config they were previously in so now they're out. Now we're on to the "Oil fan doesn't really do much either!". Yes I'll duct it next if it does nothing in heavy use which it shouldn't. But hey, the object exists and fits great and is cool. Let me have this. The car is still in the "do my fittings leak oil now? do my wheels actually rub?" phase. I did a spirited drive on them and didn't hear or feel anything. Then I got back home and noticed there were grind marks on the inside of the rims, though I couldn't see where they were touching I got out the grinder and attacked the suspects. Note: I do not know how to use a grinder. Then I realised I had dragged my new rims across my concrete driveway before I did this drive. I didn't think I had damage at that time when I briefly looked...... but remembered this occurred after I did all the angle grinding. The grinding on the wheels in some very specific spots. It's not around the whole rim for example, which lines up with dragging it across concrete more than hitting a suspension component for even 1 full rotation. So everything is currently painted and taped up and I need to test it some more to see if it really IS rubbing, but from inside the car it doesn't feel like it is. In other news I attempted to do a before and after comparison of the heads/cam upgrade thing. Dynos lie, everything is in different measurements. Here is the data from the sandown back straight. Car go faster than before. Vroom vroom.
    • Here's my base ignition. +3 correction to redline when shooting water/meth which is always on. Looking at my old ignition table, I should be able to add 1-2 degree's next time I'm on the dyno.  Let me know your thoughts.
    • Given what I know now - same haha, but this was 12 years ago with second hand 740cc Nismo injectors in my S15 daily, I was too busy hunting elsewhere for the issue to even look at the injectors, running through some cleaner was a happy coincidence haha
    • Not a terrible idea. But if I ever had concerns that my injectors were sufficiently dirty to be causing me a problem, they would be out of the engine and onto the actual injector cleaner/testing bench.
