I imported my 32, and as usual the aircon condensor has been removed and degassed. i think it had the old gas in it.

does anyone know if i can take it anywhere to get it regassed or do i need to find someone who has the old gas?

a place in the western suburbs would be good. thanks for the help :ninja::laugh:

Yeah in compliance, they will remove the gas due to some heritage law in Australia. They should re-gas it, though?

I know Profix regas air-cons! It doesn't need the 'old' gas, it just needs to be re-gassed with whatever the workshops use.

Costs about $149 from memory.

Just get it re gassed, depending how far you want to get into it will depend how much u want to spend. Just get it gassed and see if it stays working, because there is no point replacing the receiver drier if you leak gas out a seal or a rubber pipe and need to get that fixed.

Speaking of air cons, anyone know a place that repairs dodgy air mix door/actuators? Mines short circuited and requires a replacement

Does any1 know about the sensors linked to the aircon? I've had an auto electrition look at it and they couldn't fix they said possibly sensors behind??? Any ideas????

i know the locations of 3 sensors;

One is inside the centre unit, to the right of the ashtray (where there is a small air grille cutout)... thats the interior air temp sensor

then theres one on the top of the dashboard, its a black plastic shiny square on the passenger side near where the dash meets the window... that one is the sun load sensor/sunlight sensor

then theres another one in the front bumper section which is the external air temp sensor...

think there are a couple other sensors (one for the temp of the compressed gas at least) but I wouldnt have a clue where to look

If these guys are any good at fixing aircon's, I might have to take mine there... my PBR actuator is reporting a short circuit ;\

ok what u need to do is run the diagnostics for the climate control... theres a guide here somehwere

basically you hold down the 'off' button of the CC unit as soon as you turn the ignition on... after 4-5 seconds it'll start up in diagnostic mode

you can then use the up and down arrows to navigate thru the options... you'll need to read the guide to interpret them, its your best bet of figuring out whats going wrong

if your fan works it could either be a compressor not working/no gas in compressor, or a stuck hot/cold mix door.... or a bunch of other stuff .... do a search on the r32 climate control and you'll find the diagnostic thread.... mine reports a shorted PBR actuator (controls the hot/cold mix coming into the car)

hey mate. if it is on r12, which is the scew type service port fittings then, you need to get it retro fitted to the new gas. the old gas is no longer sold as it not ozone friendly. the reciever drier will need to be replaced as it has been exposed to the atmosphere, and the oil changed to a R134a gas type (like ester oil) it's a massive fine if anyone is caught incorrectly gas vehicles or hasn't got a licience to do so. it costs me $100 a year for my licience so i can regas vehicles. if i was you i'd get it done properly just so the a/c doesn't completely sh*t it's self and cost you a fortune. that's my 2c.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
