yeh i went to the police today and told them the story and the details they said there gonna look into it.

couldnt get plate number as they speed off pretty fast they probaly had no damage to his car at all

as he had f**king bull bar which is more shit. cameras im gonna go and ask the if theres any around if they can catch his plate number just really dont know what to do about the car now to keep or f**k it off "sigh"

Besides the emotional shock and your bank balance and your past good-lookin' car; HOW ARE YOU?

Can you keep the Police Event Number just in case, your neck gets sore and you develop headaches? Your CTP may cover your injuries if any! Tez

Ouch, sorry to hear, dude.

Whereabouts on Abbott Road was it? If it was near the Hungry Jacks/Caltex or closer to the McDonalds/BP, then you might have some luck with getting camera footage. Hopefully they'll have cameras set up to see the area of the road where you were hit.

Wow, that damage looks the same as friend's car when he it a gaurd rail.

Pefect height, same dual indentations as well. My friend came drifting around a corner, realised he cooked it, slammed on the brakes, and went into the guard rail. He was lucky he had hitt he brakes to stop, if he had kept drifting into the rail, the end of the rail would have ripped his rear bar, lights, etc off the car as well.

Wonder how the car didn't loose it's bumper, there is a destinctive mark showing the part where it appears to have stopped.

BTW, I am not calling BS to your claim for where the damage coming from, just commenting on how remarkable the hieghts are the same, the marks are almost identical, and the fold just before the rear looks like a stopping point, it's uncanny.

Sorry to hear about it as well man, BTW Jerry at Vision Smash worked on my R32, needed front and rear quarter, and he did a top job, but got a little stuffed around from his supplier in regards to parts, but get him to quote on it and see what he can do.

B.

could be a shift worker. i say stakeout.

Gotta say this'd be a good idea, a mate and I did this after is car got side-swiped while parked outside his work...Sat around a few nights, spotted a Tarago with complimentary damage to mates car and BAM!

I am in for the cause, make a roster

Man that's terrible I hope something gets done about it, like the others say "keep nagging the cops" also keep you eye out they may be locals. I was only bitching the other day about people who do stuff like that ("caught in the act") my incident was nothing compared to what happened to you though. I guess although it may be a bitch if you are fully insured you should just be able to pay the excess to get it fixed up.

Hey mate.

I would like to donate a free rear bar & possibly a set of tail lights if you have to foot the bill for the repair yourself.

Hope other people can donate some parts as well to get this line back on the road sooner.

that sucks dude. i got side swiped the day after i just picked up my R33 and the bitch tried to get away but manage to catch up to her.

hope all works out for you.

and in future please make sure you have insurance. this goes out to all you who buy cars but cant afford to insure them. if you cant afford insurance then dont get it. saves you from headaches likes this in the future.

all the best mate..

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
