put something in place of the cams plz dont want to add the pulling of the engine in the recipe

thats just wot im running to get that....

you get get same results minus cams with same setup just add more boost 2-3psi id say but pushing the turbo to its limits.. if not 2530 garrett 2871r - but it a bit more laggy but bit more power

not sure if this fit right here and makes sense

after removing rom chip from ecu and installing type 2 board etc. will the car be able to drive to the tuning shop or have i lost everthing pertaining to moving the car

can anyone give me a detailed description from start to be able tomove normally? even if i let a shop do this i like to know the pros and cons of this.

Sorry don't know how it works exactly, but in my case

Took out ECU and sent away

ECU came back with Nistune board and retained all maps which were in my stock ECU

Drove it for a week with no probs

Took it to tuner to tune :-)

INTRODUCTION

Base Image Programmer

All NIStune real-time boards require the “base image” to be programmed before they can be used. This is

normally done during manufacture – and cannot be changed by the end user.

Professional tuners who purchase multiple boards may find it necessary to change the base image, so we

have made the programmers available for this purpose.

Not wrong there! I sent my ECU up on a thursday to my father in-law to remove my Mines Chip, we got it the Friday. Took the day to remove all the epoxy and still had to cut the chip out! Gave it to Pete (half of PLMS) who works on the desk next to him, Pete checked out the Mines map which was leaned out in the higher revs, speed cut removed and had 4deg of timing added across the whole map (yes that is all Mines did) then he fit the NIStune board and sent it all back to me very well packaged on the Tuesday. I got it on the Wednesday. Overnight delivery Via registered post from SA to VIC = AWESOME!

Get mine tuned on Friday at Status Tuning, can't wait. Have the cable and software on my spare laptop too, it's very cool stuff.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
