I don't think there's a problem with cages in Clubsprint. The guidelines say convertibles must have either a full cage or a hardtop fitted. If they must surely other cars can... and there was something about being allowed to remove the rear seat if you have a cage too.

Paul Id rather not be in Opens after all the discussion of a hybrid class last round, but if its the only category i'm eligible for....

My car doesnt qualify for opens though if these two points will be enforced;

# FIA Approved Drivers Seat

# FIA Approved 4 Point Harness minimum

Its got standard seats (cause ive put on some kilo's in the last year or so and they're comfy) and has a non-FIA-approved 3 point harness which so far has done a fantastic job.

If it comes down to having to buy a new seat and harness, then ill just watch. Ill wait and see what Nathan has to say :P

I would love to give this a go. What are the entry costs?

Like others I would also need to know what puts you in what class etc.

From memory you'd be in clubsprint

Open was $450 per entry last time and clubsprint (correct me if im wrong here anyone) was $250)

Cool thanks.

I just had a look at the link (didn't see it before) and I'll be in open because of using RE55's. My only issue would be the FIA seat. I was expecting to buy a harness anyway so I'll just make sure it's approved.

So is a GTR seat with an approved harness no good?

Cool thanks.

We have to wait and see from Nathan :(

From memory last time they just checked for helmet approval stickers. I dont see why a harness has to be approved, look at the amount of cars that do open days (and giving their cars 110%) that just use a non approved one. Mine was approved back in the day but its expired, that doesnt stop it from working though :P

how can you put a motorsport event on the same weekend as F1, thats so dissapointing. we often talk about spectators and drivers supporting motorsport, going to watch etc, then put the biggest driving event on the same weekend as the biggest motorsport event of the year. that sucks. i so wanted to compete, but have already payed for all my tickets and accomodation, and i fear that there would be alot of other people in the same boat. i really hope it is successfull as id love to race in the next one.

but its F1 for me every March.

your not serious are you.......words spoken by someone who hasnt seen or heard f1 live.

racing at an event or watching an event where the only time cars are passed is while they are in the pits....no brainer really.
How many cars at this ears event John :( Care for a spin a lowly R32 GTSt. It would be funny to see it up where it doesnt belong ;)

Serious question. If i enter Clubsprint with the tyres i drive there on. Enter Open with a set of RE55s, can i enter Pro if i get a hired gun? If so would you do the entrant a better entry fee for entering all 3 classes? Or more likely a combination of two out of three classes?

you thinking about getting me to steer your car in pro? happy to be your hired gun and even do it for a reduced fee for you. :P

and steve-o mate, stop pushing ya bloody RB30 GTR bandwagon. :P in pretty much any type of racing in the world cars that have engine swaps to bigger engines than they came with will be in an open class or even excluded completely. you should be cheering that open class is available so you can run in that instead of pro class. that is assuming your car is running!! or just shove one of the many RB26s you have in there and rock that one in clubsprint class. :(

lol Yeah i know its a lucky thing these Superlap guys have an extra class to fill :)

Most of these RB26's ive accumulated will be on the market soon - need the space for more RB30's. I dont understand where you store all your stuff, im struggling and im sure you have more parts than i do :)

It will be running, ive got rebuilds sorted out now :D

Just short of skill now, id like to attend a John Boston instructed day actually - have done a skidpan day at OP with him it was a blast! It was organised through driver dynamics

BB are you going to enter?

Looks like I will be in Open and Pro.

Pro is for cars doing sub 15's.

I can run the S2000 in open this year with better tyres woohoo

:) the S2000 that ran 17.1 on road rubber? If that doesn't go sub 15 on decent semis with you at the wheel I'll eat my shoes!

Found yourself a quick GTR to steer boz??

The S2000 would go to a low 15 but I don't think it'd go much quicker.

Regarding the categories build a car to suit the rules dont build the rules to suit the cars!!!

No form of motorsport works the latter mentioned way.

I may come and haggle with you in the Pro class mate. Depends on a few other events prior.

Unfortunately Luke's business got broken into two nights ago....all they stole was his $4000 race helmet

is someone on here already trying to sabotage our effort for this event?....lol

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
