I bought a series 2 about a year ago and did my 1st 2 mods on it when i bought it which was a pod filter and split fire coil packs. Since then ive bought a power fc and a gfb manual boost controller. my standard dyno figure was 100awkw without pod and coil packs and 110awkw with pod and coil packs. how much power should i be expecting with the powerfc and boost controller? Remembering i dont have an aftermarket exhaust and intercooler. Also i have a bosch fuel pump, do u advise that i put this in b4 i get it dynoed or will the standard pump be ok as im not going to get maximum power out of it due to not having an exhaust and intercooler.

Depends, if your running a standard exhaust and no aftermarket front mount intercooler i reckon 130awkw.. With the very small mods you have your very restricted at the moment..

With a good tune you could get around 130 - 140AWKW at 10 psi. I doubt that you would see much difference from the new fuel pump but if you've already got one why wouldn't you install it now - might give you a little more security of fuel supply (safety rather than more power). You'll get a dramatic improvement from a new front pipe and three inch exhaust system (gut the cat or ditch it depending where you are)...at least another 30 AWKW

I say go the intercooler, zorst and fuel pump then get it all dyno'd in one hit. might save you some time and money on getting it redyno'd.

Shouldn't be a problem. I'm running 16psi on my Trust SMIC and people have done 220AWKW on the GTT SMIC (bit bigger than the stock Stagea) but if a front mount is in the planning then yes doing them all at the same time makes a lot of sense.

The R34 smic is supposed to be good for 200kw. See DIY section.

And its less expensive. Also cut out the corrugated section on the inlet pipe and replace with 3" ss pipe.

Sorry forgot to mention that it has a 3 inch front pipe and high flow cat, just standard cat back. Are the fuel pumps easy to get to?

Yeah its a manual wouldnt have an auto, couldnt have an auto!!!

I would but i dont have the money to spend on them at the moment and im taking my stagea home to tassie and i would love just a little extra power than last time.

His car is a series 2, so it has the "r34SMIC". personally i would be fitting the pump, the stocky is what, 10years old?

I would personally get an exhaust sorted before the tune, so as to save money on retuning.

Yep you can get it without dropping the tank. Run the fuel as low as possible and then rip up the floor in the boot there is a panel in the top of the tank. You may have to stuff around with the bracket to get your new pump to fit.

my s2 is a manual neo and it is pitty much stock except for a BOV ,10 psi ,K&N pannel filter and my exhaust isnt the factory one

but it is just the same and im getting after a tune on a AWD dyno 170awkws . i dont know why you guys are talking such low figures like

with pod filter and cat-back exhaust = 115rwkw

with safc = 130kw

with sitc = 140kw

with 040 fuel pump and turbo dump pipe = 160kw

with highflow turbo = 180kw

with ecu remap = 200kw

with poncams & headwork = 220kw ?

with extra fuel = 240kw *

(? for as in, being tuned now, and * as in next tune)

Hi Tangles

I have just got my GCG highflow fitted and I'm getting 190AWKW. I was hoping for 200 but will be putting in an adjustable exhaust cam gear and with a better tune should top the magic 200. What do you mean by "extra fuel"? Are you getting bigger injectors?

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.   
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
