started buildin a gtst rb30 r33 head big turbo all the **** a friend did the same smaller turbo he wheel spins in 4th on boost its a animal but how do u use that power on the street .i went and bought a gtr least i can get traction now.races start from lights not on a roll at 60kms

We have just gone through this process ourselves after importing a reasonably stock R33 GTST. The first thing we wanted was to do some mods - but when you sit down and actually add up the cost of mods (FMIC, Computer, Injectors, Turbo upgrade, Fuel Pump, Manifold, Wastegate etc.) it is ridiculous !!!

We have now sold that skyline after much debate and are in the process of importing a highly modded 26DETT R33 GTST - we could have no doubt afforded a stock R32 or R33 GTR - but again we would have the same problem in wanting to do mods.

Our reason behind our final decision was anyone who owns a GTR has an awesome fast car - but to have a GTST that will be able to compete with most GTR's is a special awesome fast car and it's nice to be different sometimes too.

GTSt Skylines are wild cars for the price, but once you get to a certain power level it gets terribly expensive to get more.

Yes it seems like the barrier to GTST becomes pocket heavy when going beyond 300rwkw. Personally i'd go the GTR if BIG HP is the go...Plus the torque has to be ridden to be understood! :burnout:

Okay think of it this way... how fun is modding a car from scratch at 14.3 rated from the factory and then achieving a high 12 after having the car on the road for about 4 months... you get to see your car turn from nothing into something, you get to have fun, and its almost affordable for most with a GTSt... with a GTR its hard enough to afford the thing let alone mod it... thats the only reason i love the GTSt's, so much potential for an affordable price. Yes i am a huge GTR fan and if i had the chance i would jump for an R33/34 GTR for sure, but for now and for my first car i don't mind my 33 GTSt... its starten to boot n i'm hanging to run a GTR jus to dissapoint one :D

well said.

i had the money to buy a r32 gtr. but i didnt.

i wanted somthing different.

and i got a r33 not a 2 door( its to common) i got a 4 door.

im in this game to build a car. thats the fun part.

y buy a fast car to make it fast.

buy a slow car and make it super fast.

I was making 152rwkw in my R32 GTS-T with a 3" exhaust, 12psi of boost, stock IC, stock airbox and filter.

I ran a stock R33 GTR that launched at 5k. I managed due to reaction time to get the ever so slight jump and held in front all the way.

I've got a vid that was taken from a VX GenIII Manual Commodore that had an exhaust.

I was lucky I got one of those fluky good launches that didn't have to much wheelspin.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
