Own a 540i sport (Dec 2005). Nice engine, nice build, extremely comfortable.

Test drove the current M3, great car, not a supercar though.

Have an R35 on order, suspect I've made the right decision for my list of wants. I guess I will find out in May when it arrives.

As for the M6, not a track car full stop. Good for cruising I suppose but why compare it with a track car? Chalk and cheese.

Handbrake you made the right choice. I was considering buying a BMW M3. Even went in there to lay down the cash that day 4 weeks ago. Test drove the Convertible M3 2008.

Thing was slow and BORING to drive, convertible is slower than the coupe but really for $177,000 for BMW M3 you want to be blown away and I sure as hell was not. I told the dealer it was ALOT slower

than I expected & walked. I just bought a JDM R35 Silver Premium and you are gonna love this car man, the build quality of the interior is beautiful. the exterior is 10X more handsome in person than the pictures you've seen. (didn't even like the car from all the Nissan pictures they put out) but in person the car has a presense. Your gonna love it!

Sammy

that movie is pretty staged looking... asif that silly little matchbox 2litre stocker could beat a lambo matching performance car!!

oviously they where just toying around

=P i dont believe that guy 'not wet or anything', looks pretty wet, lights hell reflected on the streets

BL to that GTR owner

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
