so what's the story now. i heard from someone nissan did cheat and used race/semi slicks??? :)

well i think its a conspiracy that porsche accused Nissan.

ever since the R35 GT-R has hit the tarmacs, porsche has just windged.

in my perspective, why wouldnt they?... Nissan generally manufacturing passanger vehicles for the middle class, like TIIDA & Pulsar...

and porsche had been making expensive/exotic or high end sports cars for nearly 80 years.

then one day BANG, nissan throws a curved ball...with the new R35 GT-R into the ring, beating all the top guns in european exotics, on both nurburgring and acceration times.

this car being heavier than thier 911 turbo, but more swift...they are really baffled.

if you were porsche, wouldnt you be upset?!

anyhow porsche started this conspiracy agsint the GT-R...and saying that they cheated. for them being nosey, porsche motors had purchased thier own R35 GT-R and took it around the NUR... they recon they couldnt get the times of 7:29mins. their test car tested at 7:54mins.

well here are 2 intresting articles/links of nissan Defending the GT-R lap times against porsche's accusation.

at the end of the day as i said....

porsche is just being a sore loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and plus, wait till the R35 GT-R Spec V or V-spec comes out

being around 100kg lighter with plenty more power.........

the engineers say that it would improve track time even more, if thats the case, watch porsche cry about something else.

I find this hard to believe really (that some legal system would resolve any such issue) - on what legal basis would they challenge Nissan? At the end of the day they are just performance claims by a manufacturer - kind of hard to prove anything either way isnt it?

LOL - the GTR has been beating porsches for a lot longer than that! (not just the R35) started with the first GTR - badged as a prince :D

well im not certain about that.

i think your wrong

Prince released the "Skyline" but never released the "GT-R" until it got sold out to Datsun.

here is what is said,

The first Skyline GT-R, known by the internal Nissan designation PGC10, was released in February 4, 1969. It was available originally as a four-door sedan after a public debut at the 15th annual Tokyo Motor Show. It was advertised alongside the Nissan R380A racecar to showcase its racing heraldry

i dont recall them beating porsches..

any how... im nearly certain that it is said by editors that Nissan had its eye on the porsches prformance during the release of the R34 GT-R NUR spec.

but the NUR spec was slower than the 911 turbo.

but this day they had triumphed with the r35....

so i think ur incorrect about nissan beating porsches for donkeys years...............

sure would.

i think that there is nothing wrong with going to a club and just simply enjoying a nice glass of cranberry juice on the rocks..

it is not only full of great vitamins and health benefits but it also doesn't get you drunk so you can boogey on down for longer!

have your say!

can anyone tell me what time the original r32 gtr posted at the nurburgring??? wasnt it the first car into the 8minute mark (production car)

Oh and my opinion about the slicks, well....even if they used slicks wouldnt that only be a 10second advantage?? so the 7.54 porsche tested would be 7.44?

Still a long way off the 7.29...........ummmm then again, how much of an advantage are slicks or semi-slicks over a track like the ring??

yes your right

the R32 GT-R did 8:22sec driven by Motoharu Kurosawa

the R33 GT-R did 8:01sec driven by Dirk Schoysmans

but the R34 was not officially tested i dont think.

who knows.....porsche is just a windger.

theres video proven that it did it in 7:29sec.

thanks for the clarification man.......soooooo how hard is it to believe that the new gtr with more power and better chassi could take 30seconds off the record.

My god porsche is really pushing the bitching rights!!! they have nothing to prove, they make a great car

Always thought the R33 GTR was the first "production car" to break 8 minutes with a 7.59.

Thats something strange that the r32 was slower than the 33........ummmm my though would be that the lighter 32 would post a faster time; just shows what some better technology can do huh!

infact it was the 33 gtr vspec that broke 8 minutes.. but i read in a wheels magazine that the 1st production car to break 8 minutes was infact the jaguar xj220. haven't been able to find any confirmation online though.

Another interesting article on the GT-R v GT2 @ the Ring

http://magazines.drivers-republic.com/driv...etruth030/?fm=2

Basically, they managed to get hold of a GT-R & GT2 and belt them around Nurburgring for comparison.

Another non-nissan drive that laps 7:50+. Far from the 7:29 on so called "stock" car?

It's great that Nissan's pushing the boundaries, but false claims doesn't help anyone.

I know, right! People always look at me weird, but in the end my electric boogaloo would have suffered on alcohol :(

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
