funniest thing was it was on my way to work i was on my way outside the carpark LOLL :( so close yet so far.

Man that sucks!

Anyways guys, my defect is now cleared ($517 later).

Went back to vicroads and they had trouble finding the certificate again!! They eventually found it on the system, stamped my defect and said have a nice day.

No more strange looks at my car now with the yellow sticker gone. I think to onlookers, a defect sticker gives them the impression you are a criminal and/or serial killer/rapist

Hey guys,

I've been talking to Pettett via email. The guy is quite friendly and he is more than happy to answer any questions in regards to modification.

yeah... quite freindly... kinda like a guy f**king you in the ass and then giving you a reacharound

just a thought not being cocky or anything.

they only reason why the engineers don't sign off on the airbagged skylines is because it hasnt been tested ? wouldnt it be so much easier to get like a fund drive to get like 1-2 r33's or 34's and put front mounts in them and crash em and see if they change the impact and shit.

would it matter if its turbo or na ?

could get some race only skylines imported slap some front mounts on crash em with an engineer next to u or whatever then they coudl see and would sign off to all the intercoolers being on ?

just a option.

They cant do anything if your not in the car.

i know its a bit late but had to pick up on this one. i was at trade school one day when the cops did a sweep through at lunch time, when nobody was around, heaps of people (me included) came back to find a sweet canary on the windscreen with a sealed packet that contained the list of things wrong. cops were long gone before anyone came back. c*nts (in all fairness my car was a fair nugget tho lol)

honestly everyone knows that its a defect so YOU will have to fix it. I'm not sure if you might go speak to the machnic that issued the RWC and make him pay the bill as he has passed it for RWC when the car is defected

Well mate this might come as a surprise but i actually did not know that its a defect since its the first modified car that i have ever purchased.. and none of my mates have cars with front mount intercoolers so had no idea about the hole cutting in the battery tray..

Even if i have to fix it, does anyone know of any engineers around the South Eastern suburbs where i can go to get this done?

Cheers..

Hi,

I really do feel your pain my friend.

Call Tony at 'TGS Muscle Cars', in Cochranes Rd, Moorabbin.

He has (had) access to a great engineer who helped my brother and I out with this same issue...a little over a year ago.

I hope this helps....you can only find out!

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
