Have you ever really had a chance to talk a highway patrol officer? To talk in an environment where the nature of your questions and answers wouldn't result in how many stickers get placed on your windscreen?

Well, I have that chance on Wednesday, face to face, in studio.

So, SAU, lay some truth on me, what do you want to know? OR - What have you always wanted to know but were too afraid to ask?

do they really like doughnuts???

lol

just about the whole cooler thing. it dosnt weaken you structure when cutting a small circle of a thin piece of metal (from what i read posted on an engneers cert) does that really scream for defects???

Im still a tad cut about getting an epa for my exhaust without being pulled over and passing the test.....waste of a day, stress and 40dollars

do all police officers simply jump tp conclusions when they see a sports car or is it in their quota to make money for the epa/exhaust shops whom pay a tax im sure

are they more bias to p-platers??

oh and how come ferraris/lamborghinis and harleys have more rights then we do with a middle class/price car

Not sure if you notice but i doubt a ferrari would pass a 5000rpm rev test at 90dB

Without knowing what you spoke about (which could only ever be the tip of the iceberg)... this could be long winded

He said he has the chance on Wednesday, which implies that the talk has not happened yet..

I'm not sure how one conversation with a cop means you can now answer all of our questions? I have a million. My first question is what did you talk about and myabe I could base my questions around your topic of conversation.

Cheers.

My head hurts.

what are the major things that you see that will make you pull a vehicle over?

with a car like a skyline, are you more likely to pull over a thrashed out dirty stock 160rwkw 33gtst with altezzas, or a nice clean yet obviously very highly modified 350rwkw 33gtst?

LOLZ this thread is stuffed up with people thinking the talk already happened!

read the first post guys!!!

ask them why must they break the law (weave through cars, go over median strips, speed, tailgate) to get to a import that is clearly not breaking the law just to pull them over?

QUESTION: Why dont they stalked rust bucket pouring out smoke and oil and macking hell of a noise clearly unroadworthy, but yet they stalk skylines and defect them for a break light or reverse light.

fair is fair, we all use the roads and want them to be safe.

and old people driving under the speed limit, have slow reaction to green lights and arrows, car judge car's, think they can just merge into traffic doing 80kph or even 100kph and a steady 40kph. why dont they issue them with a license re-sitting, or a drivers safety course

id like to know why they always act as though they just jumped off the trojan war horse which invaded troy when they pull a car over..

and when you ask a simple question they jump back with 'are you being a smart ass' or a 'you know what you did' when you clearly have no idea what the hell you have done..

i can answer this one

see what this is commenly known as is "sand in the vagina syndrome"

i mean when u got sand there im gona guess you wouldnt be to happy, and for the more agro ones

where there is sand there are sand flies, and sand fly bites.... and on such a sensitive area they are gona be hella pissed off

so next time one come down hard just ask if he has sand in his vagina :(

Good work mate :( ......I can only hope that the interview/discussion is portrayed in a fair manner without bias :)

How about ask him/her how the TAC and police have got away with using 'Speed Kills' for god knows how long when it is a false statement. Speed doesn't kill it is simply a multiplying factor when an accident happens and is not a cause (this doesn't go for inappropriate speeding). All this does is enable to gov to generate funds and does not address the real cause of accidents - driver training or lack there of.

Ask him/her why the police have gone down the path of speed camera's when they do very little to stop the offense from occuring. Receiving a fine in the mail about a month after the offense has happened does nothing to stop it at the time. Instead of hiding camera's, visible ones will actually reduce peoples speed AT THE TIME.....or even better have more patrols on the street (how many more patrols would the cost of speed cameras have bought instead?).

Lastly people who habitually reoffend...whether it be excessive speed or drink/drug driving should be forced to visit a busy emergency ward on a sat night to see the damage such offenses cause.

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
