Are we just talking about GTR's here, or the entire gammit of cars?

PFC's out of the box can start all imports first time, it will more then likely be a ping-master due to it being tuned for Jap fuel though.

I think if you polled the number of PFC users compared to Wolf users the stats would tell you otherwise..  :P

For mild to mid modded cars either one is more than capable,  but once you start getting serious most people don't use either of these.

How good is the standard maps in the wolf?  Is it as plug and play as the PFC???

No I don't believe the Wolf comes with a pre-loaded map, but seeing as you get given software you can simply download a map from someone who is running similar spec to you:D

And yes, I think if you did a pole in WA you would see which way the wind is blowing:D

An arguement which could go on forever depending on which ecu you prefer. :P

No doubt the Wolf is gaining popularity, but PFC would still have more users atm, may change in the future who knows.. Like someone else said most shops shy away from Wolf (some won't do PFC either) because they prefer other stuff. More shops will suggest PFC over wolf which probably explains the higher users.. Though more and more shops are telling you to go for Autronic or Motec (read shitloads of money)...

6 of one half a dozen of the other IMO

The PowerFC are a good computer, and up until recently the import market hasn't had much competition, it's nice to finally have some choice in ECU's.

I totally agree that each workshop will lean towards what they want to sell, because they feel more comfortable tuning it, and aslong as it makes the power without blowing up then all is good:D

I really think that Apexi should release the laptop software though, I see it as a major drawback IMHO, as not everyone has access to a Datalogit.

Agree wholeheartedly, if the factory PFC software was available in english it would be a much more rounded package with even less flaws it currently has...

Still, if Steve could hire a Japanese speaking (reading) mechanic and we can somehow get the software from Japan we are in business lol

Fabian has found the limits of his PFC and is changing it soon.

Wolf GTR Plugins are out this week and were putting one in Ants Killer.Plugins do come mapped now amd MAP sensor are fine on road cars and many factory cars are on MAP like Supras and many other Toyotas and lots of Holdens and 6 cyl Falcons ETC.

Some of the shops that bag Wolfs have tryed to be dealers but get knocked back. Wheelspin ,Xspeed, Regional motorsport and Maitland performance + Works now sell Wolf for us.

Wolf would easy be the most used ECUs in WA ( I sold 18 last week)

the picture on the left i believe is from there....i need to take another pic...

a mate bought the car in feb and sold it to me as he went up to the mines...

thanks for the input guys i'll be going the front/dump pipe first then mebbe a high flow cat and then the wolf then the fmic me thinks....this the correct order everyone reckon?

i would go the safc kim but i figured why half do the job why not just go the extra money and save upgrading again in the future....

Fane,

Prolly go the Dump/Front + Cat, then FMIC, then wolf  It'll let you have some fun upping the boost before you fork out the mega-fold for a Wolf :)

And Yep, your completely right, if your power goals warrant a wolf, then why settle for an AFC?

That said, there's a market for AFCs if you were to upgrade to a Wolf later, like so many other's have :D

Good Luck with the mods :D

Paul,

That said it should be pointed out that with the stock cooler I wouldn't push it past 11psi, I keep mine on 10psi. Simply because the pressure drop across the Stock IC is rediculously high.

With a frontmount I dont see 13-14psi being an issue

Fane,

Could be misfiring, could be boost cut, could be faulty AFM, could be too much fuel, next time I see ya take me for a drive and we'll try a few things out. I had the same problem. Most of it is gone now after the AFC though :)

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
