Daily Driver: Ford XLS Ute

Year: 2000

Color: Navy

Best Features: You can chuck sh1t in the back. Work pays for the fuel.

Worst Features: Where to start?? Firstly I guess - its a Ford! Others include lack of passengers (my other car is a 2 seater as well currently), guzzles fuel - I know I said I dont have to pay but I have to fill it with 80L on a regular basis which anoys me!, damn dodgy to drive in the wet (but fun!)

Would I drive it again by choice: No

What Would I Drive Again if by Choice: If I had to still have the tray for work Id like either a Nissan Nivara or Holden Rodeo both 4x4 Dual Cab. Or if I could make it a wagon an Audi Allroad Quattro 2.7T would do just fine!

CAR: 1975 Mitso Galant coupe.

FEATURES: 1600 Engine, wheels, working Air con and stereo.

WHY? It cost me $300!

FUTURE PLANS: When the skyline is finished it will get painted and a 2.6 engine swap, with quad throttle EFI.

Car : 1985 Mitsubishi Colt 45

Colour: White, with Colt 45 Racing Stickers, Blue Racing Interior and racing seat cover, along with racing gearknob and pedals

Best Feature: use it only for taking dogs to the vet, needing to park anywhere i want, 4speed manual, front wheel drive (meaning i cant break something from wanting to go farm and do burnouts)

Worst Feature: its a mitsubishi colt

Performance: can do burnouts in 1st when dry, 1st and second when wet

Would I drive it again by choice: no

What i would prefer as a daily driver: Suzuki Carry Van 1983 :P

Would I drive it again by choice: Yeah sure

Would I drive it again by choice: not really

Dislike Factor: 6/10

The Mighty Daewoo Matiz - Van Version (Work car)

Best features - Cup holder, tight parking is a breeze and I dont pay a cent on anything which means more $ for mods.

Worst feature - It's a Daewoo, It's a Matiz, It's a Daewoo Matiz, Only 3 cyl 725cc, oh did I menttion it's a Daewoo Matiz?

Who ever said chicks dig small cars should be shot and so should my boss for buying them! :D

As well as the Civic I forgot to admit to the Bike.

Motorcycle : Suzuki GSX550EF

Colour: Red Blue White Black Gold (not kidding, needs paintjob.)

Best Feature: The freedom and fun of two wheels...

Worst Feature: Volvo drivers. (if you ride, you know what I mean)

Performance: Enough to get into and out of trouble.

Would I ride it again by choice: No, If I get another bike after this one it will be a "Sunday ride only" Ducati. Commuting is just too bl00dy dangerous. ( DAMN, I'm getting old! )

What would I prefer as a daily driver: Still something like a 3 series Beemer.

Like Factor: (the glass is half full ): 6/10

Up untill two months ago I had a Range Rover as my daily driver.

Color: Red

Year: 1993

Best feature: I could drive over anything or anyone !!

Worst feature: lots and lots of fuel, break downs and headaches

Performance: really hard to get it going, but cruised well on the freeway, and was great off road- I think thats what killed it !

I would love to have a 4X4 for camping, and even with all the hassels the rangie gave me I would still have another one.

I'm driving my GTR every day at the moment- its loud, fast and a bugger in traffic but I love it !!!!

like factor: 7/10 for the rangie and the GTR is of the scale

Well I've two others ;)

1)

'81 280zx, Black with silver bonnet, 5 spd manual & targa roof. 2.5" from the manifold back sounds cool for an old girl :P

Hmm, good for a cruise with the roof open and a 2:24 around Philip Island, that was fun! Kept in fornt of the V8 Hillmen and almost kept up with the SII RX7 :D understeers like a bastard tho. Haven't driven for a while and is for sale! Offers?? $$$$

2)

'92 MR2 GT-S Red

Quick, nimble and its an MR! handles like a go-kart and yes that's a good thing! Great ****pit for excellent sound with the stereo!

Will be going on the market once I replace the boot lining. Made a pasta bake in the boot after a trip back from Apollo Bay along the great ocean road. If only the pasta had of cooked as well I would have had diner ready to serv :(

Don't smell too good now. Will miss it when it goes tho...

Just need a need a silver BMW M5 parked along side the R33 now...

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
