Hey guys,

IDA have organised to a "Test" Drift Day at the new Marulan Driver Training Centre, 31 Jan 2009. This day is being used as a trial for suitability for future drift days.

Anyway, they have arrange for a few Drift Australia Drivers as well as some other experienced drivers to come and test out the Track. It looks like a very fun track and reminds me of some jap tracks.

Myself and Quakin will be heading up on Saturday morning to have a look. I timed the Drive from Marulan to Civic yesterday and it was exactly a 1 hour drive.

Here is some video of the track

Its tight and narrow, with the only safe place to overtake on a relatively short straight. If they don't move over for you, you can't get past without going off the track i.e. if they sit in the middle.

If you want a decent run without having to slow down for other cars, you have to back off and wait a while to make a gap, then get into it, as you will see Mark doing in the GTR in front of the car with the camera.

From Pete:

For anyone interested(from sydney) on cruising down with us, we will be meeting at Camden Valley Way McDonalds at 6:30 and departing at 6:45. It is located right near the M5 and M7 intersection for those who are unsure where it is.

From here we will be travelling down and stopping at the BP to top up on juice and then heading to the track which is only another 10 -15 minutes drive.

When we get there, not much will be happening for the first 1hr to 1-1/2 so if you want to sleep in a little and come later then you won't miss out on too much.

Please be aware that this is not a full tilt drift day, there will be stopages throughout the day for discussions with drivers and so on so don't be expecting too much. If you want to check out the track, then you are more then welcome to come.

It will more then likely start around the normal start time of 9-930am and finish around the 4:30 mark.

Here are the directions on how to get there.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
