Hey guys,

Im finally moving out of home with my gf and our little puppy! couldnt take my mum's nagging anymore.....

I just wanted to know if any1 is in the Ringwood/Ringwood East area and what you guys think of it.

I know I have to look out for that TMU guy, but as we are both students, we got a place walking distance to ringwood station so I dont have to use my car as much... (hopefully about 200kms-if that a week, instead of 500-600)

Heres a pic of the little guy..

Good luck with it all mate! And what ever you do, when you lock the dog up to sleep at night and it starts to cry every hour, DO NOT PUT IT UP ON YOUR BED!! Sure he will sleep all night and you will be like ahhh this is heaven, but 3 years later when he still sleeps on the bed you will regret it. I now sleep with my fiance and a 3 yr old Staffy that hogs the middle of the bed!!

well done!...Ringwood is fine, you could do a lot worse!..

Like everything/every place.....just be cool, stay away from trouble and cockheads, pay the rent on time and you'll be fine.

The start of a new phase in your lives!!!!!!...grrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaat!

i got an apartment in toorak early last year, one of the best things me and the mrs ever did :)

want to get a house further out at end of lease tho...

got a garage?

lol how much does that cost?

also to whtsky

good on ya bro...and dude the dog haha love it ive got the exact same one diff colour

Thanks guys :) dw ... it has a 1 lock up garage... I said to the gf I wasent moving into a place without one!

Dirk Diggler: I feel for ya, a staffy taking up half ya bed would be horrible! but this little guy is about the size of your elbow to your rist... he has a little bed on the floor, because he cant even jump up on the bed! so its alright.

and good on ya ryan.. you must be doing pretty decent for a place in toorak! havent seen you in yonks... where were u before u moved again?

P.S Jay, thats why we got him, unique colour, hes grown on me over the past few months... just a great temperment, lots of attitude for a tiny thing...

mt waverley

apartments in toorak start at 210-250 for 1BR, 240+ for 2BR... hawthorn was similar when i was looking... we pay 220, is heaps bigger than more expensive ones in glen iris, but still rather a house :)

Im in Boronia/Bayswater, so not too far at all. You'll find A LOT of commodore drivers that will sit on your ass/want to drag you at the lights etc. It seems they all breed in this area. Just ignore them and they will speed off soon enough.

Otherwise area is good, can't complain. Just bought my house here last year. =)

Boronia/Bayswater, thats like the White version of Springvale.

brighton to ringwood - enjoy the culture shock :D

haha yep!

I'm moving to Brighton with the gf... Prahran is too full of fark ups... the last straw was the junky shooting up outside our apartment at 8:30 in the morning with his chick standing there twitching, drooling and staring at the needle like a fat person looks at a donut... was gross and in full view of everyone, could have just ducked into one of the garages there but no...

moving to Well street, between middle brighton station and the beach... yuppy style lol :)

Ppft - what would you know Ash. You never leave a 10k radius of the CBD. Don't listen to Ash, he knows nothing when it comes to real life :D

Good luck with the move and nice cat :D

(OO)SKYLINE(OO) - What am I missing about Boronia/Bayswater? I know Bayswater is a dump but yeah?

Adzmax, me and a friend was just having a joke about Bayswater as she use to live out there (I think) or had friends there.

Was just saying its all Caucasian ppl live out there as opposed to Springvale with all Asians. :)

Good luck with the move. Good Luck with living out of home.

Trust me you move out of home from one nagging woman to another nagging woman. "You have been been warned!"

I think bayswater is pretty nice. btw... you have no idea how many people ask me if he is a cat/fox/stuffed toy... chick magnet X 11ty though :)

LOL! There is no way the nagging could be as worse as my mum's ... not to mention the fact my gf and her dont get along!

Well my advice is.....Dont do it, stay at home as long as you can, in fact remain there rooted to the spot forever. Nagging is a small price to pay. Shit just gets done at home, once out of that shit has to be done by you. No fun!

Unless of course you have a few million spare whereby you can buy a place and someone to cook, clean, garden and do your washing as well. If that last part is at all close, where are you moving to, and do you want a boarder? hahaha.

Ypu honestly think the nagging will stop when you move out....nope the nagging baton is passed to your gf from your mum....enjoy!

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
