It seems like they've having really good deals comparing to their Parent company Optus has got to offer. I've been using Telstra for a while and they're not offering me any better deals so i'll have to say good bye to them.

Anyway, i've never heard of TPG before until now so i was just wondering if you guys are using any type of TPG services...

How is it?

Are they reliable?

What's their net-work coverage like and especially any kind of hidden fees?

....etc

I'm paying $59 for 12gb with Telstra (cable) and it'll slow down to 64k once exceeding my limits. TPG is offering 49$ for 50gb with 25gb peak and 25gb off peak.

Thanks

Thanks Greg, sounds good to me.

I'm with TPG atm and they have upgraded my connection to ADSL2, but I still need to get my router up and running.

Yes the are good, and I have friends who went from iPrimus or Optus to TPG.

take a good read on tpg own forum.. if you are having bad luck like me, u gonna restart your modem every 1-10 hours as you will lose connection/drop. I have changed 3 modems, even using TPG recommended ones.. Worst experience is losing connection in 4x minutes, and i have to face this issue every day (EVERYDAY 365 days!!!!!!!)..

VERY USUAL and most of the people who face this kind of issue, will not be able to fix no matter wat.. ALTHOU the tpg will try to help u out by isolation and stuff (which i done it for xx times, and still i m facing the face issue)

I m using their broadband internet(200gb, $79) and mobile ($49 cap, only paying $9.99). When the contract ends, i will throw it away!

also, PLEASE check how far are you from the service point(forgot wat it is called), u can check at their website too. The further u are, the slower your internet speed(100%) and more chances of having my issue (60%??)

Yeah they mentioned that actually,

My house is like just under 2km away from their service point which they said there is a good chance that the speed that i'll get is around 90%-100% which i highly doubt anyway.

mines fine, i have the 150gb a month plan, bought my own dynalink adsl2 modem and havent had any issues..im about 2k from exchange as well.

its been reliable...and the fact that 100kb/s upload + massive data makes it all good...

reliability can depend on the hardware you are using too..so far cant be happier with the dynalink i got..only cost me $100 or something...i just leave it there and it does what it needs..cant remember the last time i reset it.

they would be similar to dodo

cheap service, works fine, no issues, p2p is shaped and thats it

service and customer support will be very poor, long hold times etc

as long as you dont need tech support and won't have a wah if you can't get 800kb/sec at 8pm downloading bit torrent go for it

Im with TPG and i have no issues at all.. I get good speeds and i dont get the known drop outs.

Just be careful if you have an optus phone line that it will limit you to not being able to get TPG as they are not compatible with the lines.

Apart from that its tops 150 GIG a month is wicked :P

I must admit though a guy at work also has TPG and he does get a few drop outs... Might be the modem i dont know but i am not currently using a TPG supplied modem

i have noticed i have gone from 900kb/s too under 200 on P2P stuff... are they allowed to change it mid-contract?

its their network

they can do whatever they like, if you challenge it, they will just say you are placing a burden on the network (which you would be likely doing)

they will always protect their network and priortise HTTP higher

and this is assuming they have changed something

there could be network contention, could be upstream, could be remote peers are capped

could be less seeds, the list never ends for slow bit torrent speeds....

i work for optus and i tpg were good..they took over soul...but from what a majority of customers have told me that were with them was that if u make like one call outside there terms u get raped in the ass big time, they are cheap but from what im told..shit service, poor product...honestly stick to the big companys...wouldnt touch telstra with a 10 foot pole but cmon like allblitz said fusion is the best deal goin around come see me :(

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
