Jess this year i believe the costs are pre driver not per team/car so have come down a fair bit for those entering solo.

I'm really really keen on doing this, if not this year next year for sure. I'm trying to convince the inlaws and a friend to sponsor the car and cover the entry fee, through their respective companies. They can claim it back as advertising costs. Just got get em drunk enough before i ask :-)

Yep the pricing has come down a lot..More accessable to us little guys now :D

Cool..I hope it works out for you :) I loved my car all stickered up with my sponsors after the event didnt want to take them off cause the car look like it was a real race car! Was awesome! ;)

No big red in Dutton....they used Chris's GTR :)

Awww really :( Love that car!

But Chris GTR is the White R33?? That car is awesome too!

Just as a heads up before you all get too excited - NSW ain't going to be cheap!

If you want cheap do W.A. ($990p.p)

The price I was told for NSW is around $3K pp. Although I was also told it might be a case of $3K for driver 1 and only another $1K for a second driver. Either way given you also have to travel the whole weekend I don't think the NSW event will end up being considered "cheap" unfortunately.

After all the hype of making it more affordable, $3k is just crazy. Isn't that the same as last year, and last year apparantly included after track events which have been removed to make it more affordable.

I suppose though it could all come down to how much interest has been shown by regulars in the background. If they are certain it's gonna fill up easily why drop the price?

Firstly - my guess is the extra cost will be to do with the extra facilities. Since it is a moving rally that covers 1,000kms they will be using a LOT more locations than ususal. For Vic and W.A it's 4 locations over 3 days - I think you'll find for NSW it will be upto 3 a day or something.

And as for Mt Buller - if I was betting man I'd bet this won't be the last one ever. It might be the last one ever run by Mountain Motorsports but I'd be willing to bet someone else will pick the event back up at some stage.

That being said I'm still keen to do Mt Buller this year JUST IN CASE! :P

I have some further details on venues for ATC NSW.

It will begin on a Thursday which will be all day at EC / WSID

Over the rest of the event there will be stages at

Taree Airport,

Grafton Hillclimb -

and maybe another hillclimb thats along the way? (NSW people might know)

Releigh Raceway -

Town Stages in Newcastle and Coffs Harbour

And for those wondering what the WRC Special stage will consist of - apparently it is the 2.5km course used for the Speed on Tweed at Murwillumbah Northern NSW -

I seriously hope that is the case Snowy!! I have that much on this year that I might not be able to make the MT Buller Sprint..So want to experience it!

Here are the details for NSW should anyone be interested.

NEW SOUTH WALES

As you would all know, we are well into plans for New South Wales, which will be a very different kind of event. This event has now been officially released and as a previous competitor we would like to give you the opportunity to enter now before it sells out.

How is the NSW ATC different:

· You can enter a car with a non-driving passenger, OR with a second driver - limited tickets for additional non-driving crew will also be available.

· The event STARTS in Sydney and ENDS in Tweed Heads, NSW

· Starts Thursday 3rd September and ends Sunday 6th September, 2009.

· Final presentation will be in Tweed Heads on Sunday 6th at approx 2pm - plenty of time to get flights home Sunday night.

· Transport for cars back to Sydney and Melbourne has been organised with CEVA Transport. Trucks will pickup cars for a subsidised transport deal for interested competitors.

The most exciting part of the NSW event is YOU will get to compete on a near identical WRC Super Special Stage in Murwillumbah, in front of THOUSANDS of fans- then watch the WRC cars do their stuff. It’s the first time in history this has been able to be done! Add to that awesome venues and events such as Eastern Creek Raceway and WSID Dragway, a couple of Australia’s best hillclimbs, a fast blast down an airport runway, a tricky karting circuit, and some fast-flowing Auto Tests. We have even secured another signature event at Coffs harbour with stages on some of the beach access roads!

Pricing for NSW Event

Driver (plus non-driving passenger) Entry: $2,750

2nd Driver (replaces non-driving passenger) Entry: $990

Pricing includes entry, some meals, merchandise, rally decals, entry and tickets to Rally Australia Super Special Stage with ATC hospitality. CAMS insurance premium $190 per car.

Schedule

Day 1 Thursday

- Starts off at Eastern Creek, WSID, etc for the usual events of previous NSW Duttons, then hit the highway for the Ringwood Hillclimb at Raymond Terrace that the MG Car Club run. From there we drive to Taree for the night.

Day 2 Friday

- Starts with drag runs at Taree Airport, then onto a cool little track south of Coffs, called Raleigh Raceway. They have had the International Karting Championsships here years ago, and a number of Car Clubs use it for their Nationals, as well as Hillclimbs. Search it...it is quite cool. Then into Coffs for the beach stages mentioned. Stay in Coffs

Day 3 Saturday

- early start with breakfast and car display in the Mall, then first cars start leaving at 8am for the Hillclimb in Grafton for 2 runs. Then road trip up north via Casino to Murwillumbah, for WRC...

This will take place between 4.30-6.00pm sharp, then stay up there the night.

Day 4 Sunday

- a few stages in around Murwillumbah for a lunchtime 'ish finish to watch more WRC action.

so thoughts on NSW round?? Who's likely entering...

It's alot of driving..... :) But would be very interesting

I wont be doing it...I Dont feel I have the right car at the moment plus I'm focussing on other goals for the rest of the year..

yeah agreed - the whole concept of a relaunch with new pricing has gone out the window.

having said that, now the race season win won't happen I might give this a go anyway.

for anyone wanting to do grafton, coffs and ringwood, they are all regular hill climb locations so you can do them for $100 instead of $4k.

Exactly.

When i got the email and checked the pricing i wasnt suprised to see the price around that figure,

Given that anyone looking to do these sort of events have suitable cars already and dont need to spend more on prep (other than tyres, pads etc and maybe cage), my buller seems the best one to do this time round

http://www.mountainmotorsports.com.au/

last year entry was 1500, deposit/eoi this year is 1000. Entry fee not confirmed yet but since they had to cancel the last one (lake mountain sprint) due to lack of interest I figure its worth supporting them properly.

Car needs to be caged and road registered so that narrows it down to the production car for me. we will turn the boost up but that's all.

16klm stage, about 10m per pass, about 10 timed runs.

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
