This is an angry rant on my behalf.

Now i live on the diamond creek side of eltham.. only a hop skip and a jump away from kinglake and St. Andrews, the fires have affected us all in some way or another, whether it be ourselves or someone we know some how..

living fairly close to the devistation i know quite a few people who have been badly affected by all this! fortunatly not myself dirrectly.

Anyhow driving out to a mates place in hurstbridge tongiht, i'm following this wrx... next thing *BAM* flash of orange light ... the douche bag has thrown this lit ciggarette butt out the window, i was so enraged at this point and trying to memorise his rego whilst following him so i can give him a blasting!

especially with the fires still fresh in our mind, and mind you still allight allover the state can people be so careless and do such a thing.. it just makes me so angry!

last time i checked 2002 wrx's have perfectly good ash trays!

unfortunatly i was so angry and not having a pen and paper, i forgot the rego!

he quickly swerved off and drove down a side road in hurstbridge (5 or so minutes drive from St.Andrews where about 23 people died in the fires) so assuming he lives there he should be well aware of the area and the fire hazards and dangers!

so to the 40+ year old driver... YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER YOU #$%^#$% IDIOT, not only are you littering, you could have potentially started another fire!

GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

/end rant

That's amazing!

Why on earth would someone do such a thing?

Perhaps he flicked it out on habit, completely forgot what area he was in.

In any case, you should never flick cigarette butts out the window.

Would have been good to get his rego.

That's why I carry a note pad & pen in the car.

Couldn't count how many rego's & car description I have written down and submitted to EPA.

No stereo types either, luxury car drivers, elderly drivers, P platers, Soccer Mums... I don't care who they are!

DO NOT DUMP YOUR CIGARETTE WASTE OUT OF YOUR CAR :D

Which reminds me, I have to report a P plater who threw his lit but out the passenger window and into the langwarrin flora and fauna reserve off Warrandyte Rd last night.

Unbelievable!!

Couldn't agree more guys, have you all noticed how many small fires there have been along our freeways latley? One guess why! Friend of mine saw a guy throw a butt out his windows at Knox and start a fire in the garden. Pick them up and throw them back in the car I say :D

Agree with Nate, however I smoke once in a blue moon in my car, usually after a tough day.

I am surprised there isn't a bit of an awareness campaign focusing on bush fires and cigarette butts in addition to the normal "don't litter" msg.

I always try to make sure I have a drink with me so i can put my cigarettes out in that once ive finished - I ash out the window tho and have lost it with the wind a few times and even had my seat cover burnt :D *damn you cigarettes!*

shit when i walk to work and i throw my butt out and i miss stepping on it i purposely turn around and make sure that its out. Must be all the fire talk.

How about you try using a bin, maybe you wont have that problem then huh!? You smokers dropping butts all ove the ground really give me the shits - you're just as bad as the people throwing them out the window.

thats why you use the mirror as a windshield when you ash lol

Maybe it's time you finally quit fool :D Stop putting it off!

ahh im going to have to try this on the way to work soon lol

I also find that ash flys back and hits the plastic/rubber on the door frame and it gets all these white dots and I need to rub them off and then even worse is when ash blows into the back and on the seats - its like vacuuming sand off my back seats.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
