I'm of the opinion that when SAU displays they display Skyline or Skyline related models.

Just think about it, does the Ferrari club allow people with other cars to become members yes, as does SAU. Do you expect a shitbox Sigma to be on display in the middle of the Ferrari's, NO.

SAU like most groups is inclusive of all, based upon a interest in the Skyline model. We should display Skylines so everyone can see the type of car they are expressing an interest in by being a "member" of SAU.

If SAU ACT wants to take a different direction and make this a generic car club, maybe we should request renaming the forum.

That is my quick summary, if others have an opposing opinion feel free to post below. What ever the group wants goes.

I think being part of SAU is not owning a skyline, ie race snooze still pops in, Existanz owns a chaser and is a great guy. It's making a mountain out of a molehill, and you try telling Existanz not to park his car there on the day :(

edit: so yeah I don't mind a few non skylines on display as long as the majority of the cars are skylines

Well I think it is a good excuse to get the cars out, so maybe have the "Timeline' concept going, then have the other 'supporters' tag on the end....

I have a rather nice 1984 MR30 hatch, one of the first EFI L24 powered skyliner, so I guess I'll be near the start of the line!

I'm pretty sure its a given that all SAU members are welcome at Wheels. We can put all the models together and non Skylines together to fit with the theme, but we're not closing doors to any SAUers.

Even Richard can bring his Pooprah if he wants!

I enjoy having all of the SAUers not just the ones that have the skylines, why should they be excluded from bringing their car? SAU is for skyline lovers not skyline owners only. We dont need discriminating "rules" at our events.

I'm wondering why this silly poll then?? :D

I'm wondering why this silly poll then?? :D

Maybe because people have differing opinions as you can see from the poll.

This is not about stopping anyone for attending any event, but about displaying the cars this forum is dedicated to.

I only asked those to post with differing opinions, which I welcome. Please don't infer from a few posts that everyone feels the same as you.

Off the subject but related, having been to a few motorcycle rallies when people started letting in cars, the rallies turned into camp outs for anyone that didn't feel they needed to bring a bike. The numbers initially went up, then dropped off to the point some rallies are not even running any more. The main focus the bike had been lost, it was a group of people with little in common which then turned into a small group of friends.

Is SAU a group of friends, or is it a forum dedicated to the passion of a marque of a motor car where everyone with the same interest can be friends.

Supraman will be there 2moro in the treasury carpark and then in Struggle town to support the fire fighters and the peeps affected. I prolly wont go along to Wheels and line up with the SAU crew but I may just go along to perv at whats on display (candyshop). Still missing my b!atch too much...lol.

GTR holds ma heartstrings but the Supra is a tight peice of ass to have on the side :D

    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
