Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has seen any skylines in movies / anime / etc?

Obviously the Fast 'n Furious duo and Initial D

I came across this other reference in an unlikely anime yesterday: Full Metal Panic series 2. It's an anime about a military fanboy and giant robots. Probably one of the last places you'd see such a fine example of automotive engineering

Can someone tell if it's a GT, GT-T, or GT-R?

a 96 R33 GTST is in one of the opening intersection shot's of "cracker jack....

i saw it... and even went back and paused it to make sure.....

but if you blink... you will miss it....

but it's there

I'm waiting for one to appear in a Music Video..... One day im sure.... (non FNF one)

There was a tread on this a while back.

Some HK and J films with Sylines.

One called Infernal Affairs had the baddies in an R33 GTR. Another one called 'legend of speed 2' had an R32 I think.

I saw a japanese movie on SBS a while back, it was about Japanese surf culture and it followed the lives of a teenage deaf and mute couple who became accepted because of their surfing ability. Cant remember what it was called.

But enough of that, one of the young cool surfers had a R32 GTSt. The film was made in 1991 so it must have been series 1.

Yeah, there's plenty of Japanese movies/TV shows featuring Skylines. In fact, there was an article in the news last month:

Someone was killed/injured during the shooting of a new cop drama for TV. The accident happened when the stunt driver driving an R34 GTT lost control and spun out into a crowd on onlookers!:P

..The show has since been cancelled I believe and the producers arrested for shooting without the correct permits...

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
