So what are the groups?

or are mine just missing something.

GDay Albert,

Group#1 will be R34 GT-Rs with mxfly and Terry_GT-R34 in their midst

Group#2 will be R34 GT-Ts/GTs with SHANE666 and lankanboii ditto

Group#3 will be Non-R34s with pbk1776 and God_speed ditto

All organisers will be easily spotted in their Orange Shirts with Tags

Just to keep everything in order until tucked into their spots at the top of the mountain.

Cheers, Tez

is there going to be another meeting spot when we get further out west??i was thinking we could use the whole stretch of road outside the raaf base.. straight bit of rd and its just before town where we can regroup saftly

From the ACT...

It looks as if 'CeJay' and his R32 GT-R will be coming in Group #3 Raf & Matt (God_speed)

And 'GTRKat' is a likely with his R32 GTsT

I wish I had a gtr, but it's only a 4dr gts4 with a 25det in it :P

You're right again...

We're considering that same spot along the tree-lined stretch between Clarendon & Richmond opp RAAF and next to the tennis complex under the trees.

And that spreadsheet of Matt's creates order out of chaos :P

Well after the recon run yesterday, we managed to scope out some really nice spots in Mt Wilson. Some pics were taken to show everyone what the area looks like as well.

Pics below are where we will line up for photo shoot and car judging at Mount Wilson. Everyone are welcome to be involved with the judging as well. Prizes for each category winner includes GT-R car models, genuine Nismo shirts and track tops, and perhaps other little goodies yet to be finalised.

This is the visitors information map. The Avenue (Mt Wilson Rd) is where we will line up the cars. Cathedral reserve on top right is where we will do lunch, performance by Japanese swordsmen, prize presentation, and more photoshoots!

This is the only cafe in Mt Wilson where food can be purchased. We are under negotiations with the proprietor to see if they can cater for most of us on the day. Obviously not everyone would want to buy their lunches there. In fact, after the photoshoot and judging, we will relocate to a nice picnic area at Cathedral reserve so bring along your own lunch and drinks if you wish to.

Parking are outside the cafe. Condition of the road is not too friendly with low cars so take extra care if you wish to go down there.

Cathedral reserve. Ample parking for all of us, although we will be scattered due to other people using the park as well. But we all agreed this will be the best place to lunch it and just relax. The dirt road is friendly for low cars as well as we used Matt's R33 GT-R to test it! We will also host the Japanese swordsmen demonstration here as well and in conclusion to the day, the winners of car judging will be announced here.

Hopefully there will be no morons there who get carried away on the dirt roads hence throwing up stones on cars behind

Just make sure you are following Terry's car. He drives sooo sloow... :P

Seriously though in an attempt to control that sort of behaviour I think that we will be getting the lead car of each group to take the speed down quite a bit once we turn into the access road that leads into Mount Wilson. As you are hinting at, the roads (while they are sealed and absent of any craters or significant potholes) are not exactly first-class blacktop when going into Mt Wilson so people should be keeping their speed in check.

When entering the picnic area at Cathedral Reserve in particular, drivers should take note of the dirt surfaces, as well as families / kids playing in the area (or women that happen to be crossing the road with dogs).

Should've been there the day we met him..... :(

OMG you have to bring that beast out. Im a big fan of old skool jdm rides.

Hell Yes!!! That looks mint!!! And being the ORIGINAL GT-R...would kind of be rude not to have it there lol

F/S 2000 Model R34 GT-R

Black with HKS/Blitz/Apexi mods + ADVAN Racing RG rims

Reason why I want a NEW OWNER ?

Driver is too slow!

I want to go fast but...

i) Terry can't get me past GO

ii) I never see $200 for fuel

iii) driver has lost 9pts and is 3pts away from JAIL

iv) I get stuck on Free Parking 75% of the time

v) 25% at Water Works

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
