the liability to pay tax on your earnings rests with you mate as you have to declare it in your income tax return. If you choose to work for cash (lucky you if you can I am spewing about the ludicrous amount of tax I will pay this year) then you already have an advantaged over not giving 30, 40, 45% to the taxman, so you cannot be too aggrieved about not getting a hand out.

On the other hand, I am f**king pissed, I have paid over $60k in tax this year so far and I aint getting shit, who the f**k paid for all these handouts in the first place....... its bullshit

no not exacly. he refuses to give me a group cirt.. and my super isnt being pad either. so it on his head buddy. ive just got to make one call and it all goes down the toilet, but i like working there

So you earned over, say, $130k+? And your compaining about not getting $900....

I'll switch pay's with you any day of the week mate and you can keep my $900 from Ruddy

I thought it was only for families, not single people.

This government going to ruin the country, they should be saving the money and use it on building pipelines for water from the north or other infrastructure, that would create jobs and help with the droughts and irrigation problems that the growers are facing, now the country will be going broke-jobless-and starving, families could use it but giving it to everyone is playing Russian roulette with the future, wasting our taxes on hand outs to everyone.

I agree and dissagree,

The government is not giving it to everybody....

I agree that for the Economy my student $950 is going straight towards my Europe trip in June so my hand out won't alter the economy in a positive way, on the other hand I still recon that giving the impulse buyers (students) and people that need the money (strugleing households and farmers) will stimulate the economy overall.

The pipe line project will help bury our economy if we start on it now, it will create jobs, but barely any jobs compared to the economic boost the stimulus package is meant to provide (in theory). The nation will be left in debt in the worse time possible if the pipeline is done now, a hand full of people would benefit on the pipe project financially, and at this time the water situation is the least of our problems, we have decent rain fall in most parts of the south at the moment, but financially we are up against a fire storm that would affect EVERYONE in Australia and not just farmers running out of water.

Proper farmers should get a much larger hand out than that.... $950 would be like a days price of diesel while harvesting lol, its a joke but better than nothing.

Also i'd spend the stimulus money on a Power FC or another ecu...

and its good to see kevin07 sticking with labour tradition and wasting all the money from budget surplus's under liberal. good stuff kev, keep up the good work

Lol @ you Jonno , so this stimulus package is Kev07 having some fun or something?

He just can't help himself hey, he's controlled by the ghosts of labours past...

I guess the Americans, most of Europe and Asian are just following Rudds lead?

Having global recessions is a Labour Party policy, one of their most basic of political tenets.

Now they've achieved their primary goal maybe it's time to look at the education of our populous.

Because who wants a nation of poor and stupid people, one or the other maybe..

Seriously though it's all an illusion and even that is labours fault.....Doofus

You might want to try putting some thought into what you write ;)

Ok dude lets apply a bit of perspective here....Lets say you earn $65k....Would you be happy with picking several random strangers tomorrow and giving them a total of $450 cash for no reason...Not to mention the fact that you also have already paid a higher percentage of income tax than they did????

Yep...I earn more than $100,000...But I EARN it...with responsibility and stress!!!

I also spent 5-6 years studying with no income and ended up with a $12,000 debt of the privilege...Now I don't begrudge you guys for getting $900. What pisses me off though is when you say we don't deserve it cos we earn enough to start with....

I'm at uni doing Engineering so i think i fall in the same boat as you did, so don't try to pull that one on me. Never saying you don't "EARN" or "deserve it" becuase you do, just like any one else that work's hard, regardless how much income they make. All im saying is instead of me living of part time income while studying, that $900 will help, as it will for most people. What does piss me off is people that earn over $100,000 and complaining they won't get it. FFS if you can't live off of $2000 a week before tax there is something wrong with you.

I wonder if you will feel the same in 15yrs time??

Your telling me that projects that would take 10 years or more wouldnt create alot of jobs ?

The construction would be running through the whole country with not just the labour filling jobs but everything else that goes with constuction of that size, I work in construction and have a idea about the amount of planning-transport-stores and everything else that goes with it.

And yes we have water in some spots now, but what happens when we go dry again, which we will, We need to plan ahead.

$900 will last most people 1 day(and how much of that money will stay in Australia and not go offshore), then when its gone they will be back to where they started from.

Where do the retail goods come from though, where are they made ?

Ill stop my rant in this section as its not about Forced Induction Performance.

Dont want to get slapped by the mods

i missed the part where i said the global recession was labors fault?

you might want to find out how to spell a party's name before voting for them

K Rudd gave careful consideration to the current market price of a full ecu tune when deciding on the stimulus package payment amount, true story.

Rumours flying around Parliament House suggest that he actually prefers Power FC's and is an RB30 sackrider.

pretty funny, I wondered how the Rudd/ Swan team came up with the magical $900 figure...now it's all very clear!. thanks for clearing that up Mr Blitz.

if its spent in retail it doesn't all go overseas. there are quite a few stops along the way.

the thing is; most of the $900 is going into savings/banks. in tough times, most people will try to save money. so the so called 'stimulus package' is not getting out into the economy so how is it going to stimulate?.

I have no problem giving the needy a helping hand, but to 'blow' $50bn on a general handout to many who don't need it, and will simply squirrel it away or spend it on a product produced in a foreign land by foreign labour, is rediculous. our kids will have to pay higher taxes to pay for this govts ineptitude.

unfortunately, the 'ego' driven opposition are too busy with their infighting to land any hits on the Rudd/Swan circus.

This pisses me off a little.....

I went through my time as an apprentice earning just over $6 an hour to start with. I worked about 45 or so hours a week to bring home what? 230 bucks a week.

Now i work anywhere from 45-60 hours a week on a salary, as a manager so there is certainly stress invlolved, and only gross just over 2/3 what you pay in tax. I can't imagine that you are working 3 or 4 times harder than me to deserve this payout more.

My 2c, sorry if it sounded whiny lol

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
