Hi Guys/Girls,

I'm thinking of organising a Go-Kart Day for us to have a fang around the track!! This is probably the only chance I get to bet some you guys here because my car is too damn slow hehe.

There seem to be a few events and things on in the next few weeks. So I was thinking having it on 1st of November.

Just want to see if anyone is interested on this social event. I was thinking maybe a cruise before hand or after the go-kart.

There are a few different races we can do, depend on how many people we can get and how much people are willing to pay.

The place will be at AustKarts in Port Melbourne. I would like to thanks 5 litres eater for providing info on this event.

I'm going to contact them directly once I get some figures and numbers.

This is one of the event I was looking at -

Australian "Melbourne" Grand Prix: 10-14 People

45min event, 10min practice, 2 race heats and a final with a trophy for the winner. ($65 per person, Min fee $650)

or we can rock up for "arrive and drive" session where it is cheaper but with no trophy.

(per person)

18 laps - $25

25 - $34

30 - $40

40 - $48

50 - $57.50

60 - $65

Probably best to go for 30 laps if we take this option.

So basically:

Location: AustKarts (Port Melbourne)

Date: 01/11/03

Time: will finalise later

Cheers

Aaron

Yeah, the 30 lapper might be cheaper for some people with a tight budget, like me !! hehe.

You still have some stickers and t-shirt yeah?!?! Give them away as prizes hehe Maybe we just need to shrink some of the XLarge ones.

It will even be better if we can have a cruise before or after the Go-Kart, but I don't really know any good route. The place closes on 12 midnight so we have plenty of time.

Nights are a lot easier to deal with, but if everyone is interested, we will need to book it VERY soon Aaron... I would suggest having it mid arvo (around 5pm) and maybe even have a cruz down Beach Road after.

And don't worry WazR32GTSt, we are open till midnight on thursday, friday and saturday nights.

And like phorj posted, the address is 50 SALMON ST, PORT MELBOURNE for those not sure.

Hope to see you all there!

Matt.

I would of though an indoor would be better so the weather wouldn't affect the event. Even tho it would be fun hammering in the rain on a wet track haha.

Does one of these little thing drift good?!?! :(

Not sure guys, does anyone else have a preference to whether it is outdoor or indoor?!?!

I only know of one that is outdoor and that's down Keysborough way. But I remember the karts were pretty old as well.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
