Many may have read the current FF article on athids car (front cover S15) and how i rate the TD06-L2 as the best SR20 (rb20 too for that matter) turbo package, Well today i had the pleasure of playing with two on a 2JZ :D

This car firstly is a credit to its owner and the builder this tough street driven 2jz it was spot on. All runs on 98 PULP

Motec M800 and CDI (dream to tune with)

Full Forged 2JZ

Greddy intake plenum

BIG cams

Sard 1000cc

Titan fuel hanger and pumps.

Tuned up 426.3rwkw@16psi but pulled this particular recorded run early @ 7000 (normaly we pulled to 8000rpm), then dialled up some boost and had to call it quits 579.4rwkw@7100 due to injector duty topping out (6800rpm) and afr was heading rapidly Northward towards the danger zone i reckon with another 1000rpm and a bit more boost 600's would be a walk.

Maxed out 1000cc injectors - good stuff. Although shouldnt 1000cc's be getting a slightly higher figure before maxing out? Or was it fuel pressure dropping that made you stop?

Any details on head work, cams etc?

Largest Jun items, full valve train kit. Fair amount of port work too. As for exact specifics i cant remmeber (last time i posted up specifics i got it wrong and got flamed.... r34 stylez :D )

possibly looking to put 8cm housings on instead of 10cm's to bring power curve back to suit injectors instead of upgrading injectors... would be nice to see what they could pump out with some 1600cc injectors and 30-odd psi.....

Any specs on Athids TDO6 L2 20G Trent i.e. Compressor/Turbine inducer/exducer sizes?

Would be good to form some sort of basis to compare to the Garrett offerings.

Cheers,

i will post them up a bit later today for you.

I'm pretty sure Nigel from Ice Performance ran the same set up on his Supra, and to the best of my knowledge was the first RWD import to run 10's in Australia with a manual on radials, 10.91 from memory.

Sorry to go off topic but what ever happened to the ICE performance r33 gt-r? They had some big achivements with power a few years ago and built some nice cars... now where are they?!

/On topic.

lol nigel shut up shop and ran to queensland after everyone worked out he was a shifty c*nt

PS - mad props on the big hp supra.

PPS - does it chirp second?

The ICE R33 GT-R is Leewah's car and its still around.

DAMN made 575 at Autosalon on race fuel i believe.

ICE closed a few years ago...Nigel started another shop which died in the ass. VB- is spot on with that one! And Gerald is travelling overseas.

    • Man, different parts but the same numbers is terrible @dbm7! And it doesn't help that most online shops don't list the part numbers at all. They just give a list of compatible models...
    • Slow when hot could also be because its getting more dynamic compression, OR things are getting a bit tighter once it is all expanded. If it were an earthing issue, typically I'd expect you to have it have issues all the time. Unless it's really a combination of both things. Where the higher compression, and things being a bit tighter, is giving that bit of extra load and you do need a slight clean up on the cables/connections.
    • Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about nissan part numbers... I've got an unrelated example... Image is of the AT output shaft ~ they have the same part#, but clearly the shaft on the left is beefier design to that on the right ...the difference (essentially) is the 'lighter' shaft on the right, is for engines up to RB25DE (this includes RB20 variants) : the shaft on the left is for RB25/26DET(T)....are they interchangeable? Yes...but obviously one shaft is going to be stronger than the other...and, the lighter shaft is around USD115, but the heavier shaft closer to USD150...same part#... ...epc-data usually tells a tale ~ the amayama listing for 39100-23U60 has a note "Longest side is between 60 and 105 cm" ; no such info is there for 39100-23U70 ...and given the great disparity in price between the 2 parts, it makes me at least curious (to the point of caution) where the 'extra money' went? ...ie; these 2 parts have a cost difference that (to myself at least) isn't explained by 'plastic boot'...ie; with amayama there's AUD700 price difference ...plastic versus rubber?...I'm not seeing it like that...and 60cm ~ 105cm...??...that's a huge disparity....something hinky going on here... I'd try searching by VIN, not model... /2cents
    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
