OOOOps!!!

I should pay more attention to dates, i assumed the 26th was today, Thursday. Since when do they run them on Wednesdays, i presume its because of the Touring Car race this weekend.

How did the red MR2 go built by BD4s, the thing is a weapon with over 300rwkws courtesy of its HKS 3240, Mr HKS has the nicest brakes in the country!

It was a big day started off with the Gastapo keeping things honnest although a little rude checking cars as they were entering the track just outside and handing out coloured stickers and notices even if you didn't want them. Paul from BD4's can show some. Kinda like sitting off the local pub and breath testing which is considered dirty pool.

There were heaps of cars and with the V8 Supercars setting up for weekend it was busy and a lot of people about.

Roy or other motorsports fans read this next bit. skyline fans sorry.

I did a 1 min 49.2 with a skyline stop watch as in Skyline owner timing, he he. Best GTR time was BD4s with Warren Luff with passenger did a 1 min 52 although there was a lot of cars so traffic, and bit of rain so hard to know. Owner of the R33 monster GTR was timed at 1 min 56 although not sure how good a driver he is. Lets just say my case of beer or V is still safe for now.

PS My new big carbon rear wing helps and suspension sorted it is sweet now.

Im pissed off that i didnt read the date properly, i just assumed Thursday like all other Motoconcepts days.

Thats a good time John, some HKS 2530s and 1.3bar would top of the whole package rather nicely dont you think? :P

Did Luff give the BD4s MR2 a squirt, any idea of lap times? If Paul or Tom was driving the GTRs would have been a whole lot quicker, Luff was the escape goat for getting beat:uh-huh:

Monster GTR doing a 1:56s ? Damn i would have loved that scalp.:(

Yes a stock GTS-T and a Zed might be close. A stock GTR will smash a stock Zed but moded as we know or at least I do it is a different story. Zed brakes are crap, diff is a slushbox also heavy boats.

Roy how could you forget. Yes MR2 was fast don't know of times and it was running hot so they took it easy.

    • Great work! Thanks for documenting the process.
    • How would you even adjust the clutch if the pedal already has the correct free play? The operating cylinder has no adjustment in mounting position or rod length. On pull style clutches there is also no ability to adjust the bearing carrier. Push type I can see how adjusting the carrier height makes it all work.   If this is the twin plate clutch did you verify that your friction disks were oriented correctly? It's not mentioned in the directions at all you just have to notice that one side the friction disks have a part number on the hub fingers and a subtle coning to those fingers. Another thing that I noticed was if you put the friction disks in backwards the pressure plate fingers will not be even and flat when the clutch is installed.
    • yeah, mechanically, it is probably do-able, off the top of my head, there would be the transfer case, which I believe will bolt up to the rear of the RWD transmission, the shorter rear tail shaft. A front drive shaft, front diff, engine upper sump, front drive shafts, front hubs and front AWD struts (they are shaped around the front drive shafts), LCAs (at the very least from the front suspension) oil cooler.  You might want the rear diff from an AWD too, so you can be certain the front and rear diff rations are identical.  Who knows what brackets and mounts you might need.  So a whole doner car might be the best option if you need to maintain RHD. Then actually making it work, that would be a whole different story.
